WTH is going on with game broadcasts?

Still the bottom line is that more people that pay for TV in the Portland/Vancouver area are able to watch Blazers games with ROOT than could with NBC Sports. So your complaints that the Blazers care less or continue to care just as little are incorrect. By expanding access they have shown they now care more about how many fans can watch.

And for fucks sake just get on Reddit and stream the shit for free if you don't like the other options.

Thank you. This was a well thought out and well typed post. Way better than anything I could throw together. I've said before, I understand people being heated and pissed off, they just need to aim that in the correct direction. Nice work.

That was a comment about how the Blazers acted like getting Alaska, a state with as many people in it as basically the city of Portland, was some bit coup. It was basic PR spin by the team. I'm sure the 3 Blazer fans in Alaska are excited that they now get to watch games.

Where I live, outside the Portland Market, Comcast is not a option. Either is Direct TV , since they only offer LA local channels instead of Portland. I am going to be stubborn too and not change my cable provider because the Blazers choose a provider who doesn't offer the service in the central part of the state. I guess I just get more time with my kids and won't spend as much time as a fan. No driving up for 5-6 games a year anymore.

Years ago my dad worked for the Blazers and they did him and his coworkers dirty when the switched from the Coliseum to the MODA center. I stayed as a fan, but just gets old. Oh well, I am sure the bustling Alaska market is more important then one of the fastest growing markets in the country.

I did email Roots will see if they respond.

Just a heads up, so people aren't actually looking for a reddit page. I actually don't think it's available on reddit (though I could be mistaken). But if you search google for "reddit r/nbastreams" one of the top results will be a page that was derived from the now shut down r/nbastreams page.
 
I pay the exact same amount as I did last year and I still get to watch every game. Yes it's on a different channel now and I wonder if that 1253 channel is HD but I have yet to miss a game and I am not being asked to pay any more. About $90 a month for everything. Internet, TV, All my 3 party links. The third party links I have cost me a little more like Netflix which is around $15.
 
I'm closer to Portland than most of Oregon (just across the river in Vancouver). It's 13 minute drive to attend a game in person....and yet, I either can't get all the games via streaming (Fubo, no TNT), or I have to hunt all over to find the back up channel that the Blazers might be on behind the Kraken game which is a 3 hour drive away.

So for the first time in my adult life, I'm not watching Blazer games. I listen to the radio, watch highights, and sadly feel no huge level of being deprived from seeing basically the same team/result that I've bled crimson over for years.

It amazes me after the years (decades?) of backlash over Comcast that they not only didn't do something BETTER than comcast, but they actually went out and got something WORSE than Comcast.

This front office is trash. They don't care about the fans. They don't care about their product. They care about the bottom line, and that seems to be it. Not winning. Not making the fans happy. Just the bottom line.

I keep getting blacked out and have to record the replay and try not to hear anything about the game or glance down to the bottom of the screen and see the damn score. And I have Root Sports. It's definitely getting worse for Oregonians. But better for people out of state maybe? That gives me no comfort, dawg.
 
I haven't been able to watch or record a single game that has been broadcast on NBA TV. And I have Root.

I don't work for the Blazers and I have not missed a game yet? Seems like all the people trying to find a "Extremely Cheap" or "Free" way to watch the Blazers are the ones complaining. Either they are worth paying for or they aren't. Like i have posted a number of times on different threads. My bill is reasonable and it's the same as last year. Hasn't even gone up. I get every game without problems.

You didn't see the two posters above who don't get all of the games (Fubo) and that actually have Root and can't watch?

It's easier to stream it for free than it is to pay for it... They made that choice, not me.

Sounds like you have an issue with your provider if you are losing the signal. Have you reached out to them. No games should have been blacked out.

Your comment was not tagged to anyone in particular so it seemed as though it was a general comment directed toward the discussion. I have been in this discussion for most of the thread. If you don't like the sound of the response that is not my problem and if you want your statement to be left alone maybe don't make it? If you are directing your comment at someone then do so.

Now back to the discussion. You don't have to be paid by the Blazers to be happy with the coverage the way it is. I don't even live in Portland. If they want to find a way to further expand the coverage and make it so even more people have access that would be great also. I'm all for it. Just quit pirating everything and making it more expensive for those of us who are actually paying for it. The very reason it's so hard to stream well is BECAUSE people are trying to steal it. Figure this out and you may understand my stance here.

Make no mistake. If you are stealing the coverage it is YOUR choice. Yes you made it. Call your provider and figure out how to get all the games. It's not that hard.

LMAO! Watching a freely available stream is hardly stealing.

Why in the hell would I put myself in the position of having to talk to assholes like Comcast? Then deal with them jacking pricing on me and having to talk to them again.

So much easier to just click on the stream and enjoy. That's 100% their choice.
