X-Rays for Oden on Right Foot

I wouldn't blame Oden. He already fees the weight of the world on his shoulders. Some players are just hampered by injuries..we just happened to pick one with the #1 overall pick

He's going to feel even more weight on his shoulders now. He needs to do something, SOMETHING. At this point he hasn't done a single thing.

I used to be a huge backer of Greg's, but that's starting to change. How long does it really take to get in shape? Hasn't he been cleared to run for like 4-5 months? I understand not being in game shape, but being a tub o' lard is different.

I'm really disappointed.

Hey, on the plus side we can all argue about how we could have taken Kevin Durant. :)

Seriously though, I can't have this many emotional highs and lows with this guy. He's a Blazer fan's version of cocaine right now.

If he's hurt long term, I'll be very upset.

He rolled it pretty good, but I think Kenny Smith is right. The Blazers are being overly cautious with Oden because of his injury history. I think he'll miss two weeks at the most.

They just said that because they saw something and don't want to say for sure until they know what it really is. I really think he will be out for a while maybe months. He can't get in game shape because he can't stay healthy long enough. Fuck Oden didn't even make it for our first home game.:sigh:

This is what I'm thinking, something is there but they are waiting to announce it until they know for sure.

With Williams, they did an x-ray and said it was negative but they will do an MRI just to make sure there is no damage.

Saying it is inconclusive is not good. Big man, structural damage . . . I guessing we are talking months not days or weeks.

The ligaments are more of a concern with the flex his ankle/foot took on that fall.

That's why the MRI. If he was able to keep playing, I'm guessing it's just a really bad sprain that probably swelled a lot at half-time.

I think that's a great explanation.

Just saw the replay. Looks like a bad sprain to me. That could have happend to anyone. He caught the end of his foot against another player's shoe.

They said the same thing about his hand, and his knee . . . and his tonsils,

and his . . .

As if we Blazer fans needed another reason to hate Derek Fisher.

Well, time for a melatonin, because if I don't I'll be checking every Blazer site on the web for Oden updates tonight.

I predict that Greg will play on Friday!!! Who's with me!?

He had a mid-tonsil sprain?

I don't know what he had, I just remember he missed some games cause he couldn't breath or something like that so they removed his tonsils . . . missd the rest of summer league if I remember right.

Some of joked back then about him being injury prone . . not that funny of a joke now.

I still can't believe that Oden will most likely not be in uniform for the home opener.

It's almost surreal to me at this point.

If Oden doesn't play the home opener..........*pulls hair*

NOTHING and I mean NOTHING gets you back into basketball game shape unless you PLAY basketball. Since he hasn't be able to play until this past September, all he could do was rehab the knee. The guy is a workout warrior and has been getting nothing but glowing remarks from Medina. Please do NOT be THAT FAN. The last thing Oden needs is the fan base to turn a cold shoulder to him.

I asked my wife (who is an x-ray tech/nuclear med tech) why an x-ray could be inconclusive and she said that if there were a hairline fracture or if the x-ray machine at the Staples center was limited in the kinds of views it can give you, then it's possible that it wouldn't show up ... I guess we'll find out tomorrow what the scoop is.

I made a clear distinction between game shape and being fit in my post. Does Oden not look like the Paul Pierce version of a center out there?

He seriously needs to drop more weight.

I was so jacked for Halloween night too..got tix..going to club afterwards...may have to pre-funk a bit more if oden is out for a while

I'm sure the x-ray machine at Staples would be able to get every view possible

Barrett already has a new blog up and he seems to downplay the injury, I'm not sure if that is good news or bad news.

The latest on this, as of late Tuesday night, is that's a mid-foot sprain, and he'll have it checked Wednesday. Doesn't sound too serious, and that's good news.

How long does it take a hairline fracture to heal? Wasn't that what took out Yao for the season?

Whatever happened, it wasn't good that he was trying to play on it.

Man I feel bad for Greg. He wants to play so bad but shit happens.

The next time Barrett puts a negative spin on something will be the first time. I'm not believing anything until there's a definitive answer.

Don't get me wrong. I love MB, but he's like Al-Jazeera when it comes to the Blazers.

Fuck, I just saw the replay on TNT. That was a nasty roll. He was lucky that ankle didn't snap.
