Anyone here use system link to connect two xbox's? Can you access your xbox live account on both consoles? I'd love to get 2 xbox's and 2 tv's and set them up side by side for my kids when they play multi-player games. So both player has full screen. That'd be pretty cool! :pimp:

man havent done system link since the old xbox days and Halo 1.. Not sure if you can be on system link and Xbox live at the same time. If thats what you are asking? Like can you have them hooked together AND play multiplayer online?

But If you have two xboxes you can have them both hooked to the internet and signed into seperate accounts. I think you would just have to recover a gamertag on the other xbox. But if I'm not mistaken System Link and Xbox Live are two seperate lobbies.

but like I said its been a while lol

Ya, we'd want to play online also. I googled it but didnt find a good answer.

yeah if you are looking to play online I think just recover one of the gamertags on the 2nd xbox (you can always recover it back on the other xbox if you want when you are done) And have the two join a party to play together. Just remember the internet could lag if not fast enough, cause you would be running two xbox's and not 1. My internet couldnt handle it lol.

Do you have the family Xbox Live plan? If you have multiple people playing online it's actually a really good deal. To answer your question, you can't use the same account simultaneously on two different machines.

I think he has multiple gamertags. IIRC from a previous thread. (and you are correct if multiple people playing it is a good deal)

Yes, we have 3 seperate live accounts / gamer tags.
Didnt know about the family plan. hmmmm.

Yeah you can have up to four different accounts for $99.99/year. Absolute steal if you can put it to good use.

Wow! I'm definitly getting that when my sons account expire in July. MUCH cheaper.

Still wondering how the system link thing works.

Easiest way I can think of it is like the OT Forum on here lol. Picture Xbox live as the original Blazers forum, and System Link as the OT forum, and think how you couldnt post at both in the same time lol.

System Link just sets up its own lobby for Gamertags to play in, and they dont have to be all xbox live ones.

My question is really with the profiles. If you could only use your live account/profile on one of the consoles, you'd be limited as to who you could play with on the other system because their profile/account would have to be on that other system. Seems ridiculous that you'd always to have move profiles to the different consoles based on who you want to play with. My hope would be that the two systems would share all the profiles via the ethernet cable.

The issue is that MS doesn't want us using our profiles on more than one xbox at a time (probably to keep people from sharing). So you have to move it around. However to JUST play multiplayer between the two kids, I don't think they'd need to move the live account around in order to use system link. They would just setup a "local" profile on the "non-Live" xbox. Then they could play system link with each other. However if they wanted to go on Live together, they'd have to share the "Live" xbox (split screen) or move the account off and onto the other xbox. You also have the issue of having two copies of any game you wish to do this with. If the two xboxes are in the same room, is it an option to just keep one live account on each?

There may be another option to this as well...
