I will say that was the first time I have ever seen the wife get wide eyed and kind of excited over a video game. Is anyone getting it? Or read reviews saying to get it or not?
 
from what I can tell basically like a Wii except no controller, it recognizes your body is the controller with your movements and commands etc. But like an interactive type accsessory

It seems cool, the health freak games, weight loss games, and kiddie games will be big for the Kinect. I bet real-time stragety games can utilize Kinect. Don't expect shooters coming out for this.. Watching movies and such will be easier with this.. No stupid controller mess ups to ruin your movie.

F-ing A I didnt think about this.. I HATE when I accidentally bump my controller and back out of my netflix or press the trigger to fast forward
 
Seems like the obvious application for this is light saber dueling and boxing and tennis. Competition where you naturally move in real life.

I always find Wii tennis kind of a let down because you really only have to move the controller a little--there's no incentive to really use accurate motions that would work in a real tennis game.

Also very true. I think this would be good for the very casual gamers. And family stuff. Might not be fun forever for me. But def fun for the wife, and would have her hate video games less lol.

Yeah, so now you'll be watching a movie, shout at your teenage kids, "STOP talking or so help me I'll turn the POWER OFF!" and your wife will be pissed off because god dammit Julia Roberts was just about to get boned by Richard Gere, but in the tender "fuck me because I love you way" and not the "fuck me because I paid you to" way. "Nevermind," the wife says, "I'm not in the mood now anyway." And pow, just like that you are out of action for the night.

Fuck you, Xbox Kinect. Fuck you.

I'd like to see a "Sex Positions" game. You have to match the sex position and thrust level... my wife and I could have some fun with that!!!!

Does HCP have an xbox 360?

The one big problem I have heard about it is that it does not do well in sunlight. It throws the camera off.

Kids will be getting it for Christmas. I wouldn't get it for myself... but the 3 kids will have a blast with it.
 
Looks extremely lame. The camera has major lag input from your actions to the screen.

The only game that it seems to do well are dancing games, but they're made for chicks or kids.

If you want 1:1 movement for sports games, the Playstation Move is so much better. It has a controller, buttons, & it detects rotation in your wrist for racket games.

played it over thanksgiving. it was ok. kind of gimmicky.
