Not sure how likely such a trade is now after Olshey's recent deals, but Chicago does have some nice assets if Aldridge still wants out.

European Star -- The Bulls also have a big overseas asset in their talent cupboard. In 2011, the Bulls drafted a 6-foot-10 sharp-shooting forward from Real Madrid named Nikola Mirotic. The problem is that he makes more money in Europe right now than the salary-slotted No. 24 pick would pay. After next season, the Bulls can sign him to a much larger contract and bring him over to pair with Derrick Rose. Chicago is very high on Mirotic, and the comparisons he is drawing around the league may justify why.
Memphis Grizzles' power forward Zach Randolph compared Mirotic's skills to those of Dirk Nowitzki. "He remains me of Dirk, and a little bit of Gallo [Danilo Gallinari]…But I can see the Dirk comparisons. I can see why, definitely."
If the Bulls do not want to wedge their championship window open long enough to wait for Mirotic to arrive, they could send his rights to Portland, where his "stretch-4" style of play could fit their system better.

Chicago Assets - Aldridge is the best player in this deal. His 21.1 ppg and 9.1 rebounds puts the Blazers' 6-foot-11 center in very elite big-man company. This is great news for whichever team ends up signing the two-time All-Star, but it also means that Portland may want more back in compensation. Luckily for Chicago, they have a lot of potential trade bait that will not affect their luxury-tax looming salary cap figure.

Gee, really. Ya think that Portland may actually want to improve the team as opposed to giving away LMA for Boozer or Deng?

What a great article. :MARIS61:

Probably should be moved to the LMA wants to go to Chicago thread.

Hey, I'll add to it. LMA/Lillard to Chicago for Boozer and some #1 picks. This makes the rebuild immediate, and puts the Blazers in a great spot for a 25% shot at Wiggins.

The deal Cleveland offered was better. We have no rush in moving LA. The offers will also get better once tanking season is over.

What a poorly written article. Surprised it wasn't coming from Bleacher Report by a Bulls fan. Awful

this is what happens when Yahoo outsources their fucking writers to india.

Yahoo! contributor network. Pretty much the same thing as Bleacher Report. Was written by a Bulls fan.

And, I would not be offering Mirotic along with anything for LMA.

LMA is not a Bull. Guess why? Portland, like you guys, overvalues LMA, or undervalues the Bulls assets they'd offer.

Sometimes the best deals are the ones you don't make.

LMA is a Blazer. Enjoy him. He's great.

The same can be said about your view on the Bulls assets.

Boozer? He's an amnesty candidate
Butler? He's a backup in Portland
Taj? Huge talent downgrade from LMA.

IF/when LMA is on the block there will be much better offers. The CLE offer, for example, blows away the Bulls assets.

Without a doubt! I could almost guarantee that we could get a top 5 first rounder+ an up and coming for Aldridge.

Good luck with that. I'm more interested in beating the Heat.

Mags has a hardon for the last Euro the Bulls snagged. Asik. I think Mirotic may turn out to be a basketball player.

The Bulls are paying a LOT of Luxury Tax to not amnesty Boozer. I don't remember your name coming up during the last GM search by the Bulls.

That's because the Bulls think they're close to a title and going all in this year. Portland is trying to make the playoffs. No GM in the NBA values Boozer more than LMA at this stage of their careers. If the Bulls fail this year, they will amnesty Boozer for 2014-15 unless some GM makes a desperate move for his cap-clearing contract.

I don't think I'd tackle that job - Moving Boozer, who has negative value, is an impossible task.

If Denny is going to disrespect Blazer fans like this it might be time for us to move to a different forum.

I actually love Denny! He just sucks at evaluating talent.

My talent has won 86% of the games they played together (Deng, Rose, Boozer). How's your talent doing?

In real reality, too.

So why would you want to trade Boozer for LMA?

If those three stay healthy, that team goes 71-11. Second best team ever!!

Tell you what Denny. Aldridge for boozer, your coach and charlotte's draft pick?

Great coach. Can't compete in reality

Best record in the NBA 2 straight years.

112-36. 47 wins without Rise and a bench full of D Leaguers (and Taj and Butler).

Coach doesn't put the ball in the basket. Talent is required.

Skip Chicago. Aldridge to Charlotte for MKG, Thomas, and our pick back. Deal?

So you wouldn't mind my offer then?

See, you way overvalue your talent.

The Bobcats pick is how the Bulls can bring in a quality young player, even if their own pick us (like usual) in the 20s.

Have you figured out yet that NOBODY is offering what you think LMA is worth.

Good luck finding a sucker.
