Yahoo Sports: Aldridge to Chicago must happen

Best record in the NBA 2 straight years.

112-36. 47 wins without Rise and a bench full of D Leaguers (and Taj and Butler).

Coach doesn't put the ball in the basket. Talent is required.

45 wins, actually.

You forgot the All-Star Noah and the Olympian Boozer. It's not like Chicago had Portland's bench, and they had more veteran talent starting last year.

I also didn't realize that Nate Robinson, Marco Bellineli, and Taj Gibson are D-Leaguers.

Do you have a point, or are you happy to say stupid things that are strawman?

It's a great example.

You try to pawn off Boozer like he actually has any value.

LMA has value. It really doesn't matter if you think he's overvalued or not. Notice Neil isn't jumping at your garbage?

i'm really not too sure why some Blazers fans are so insistent we trade LaMarcus now. according to his own words, he's not asking to be traded; rather, he wants to see improvement. if the time comes where we do need to look at a trade, next summer would not be too late. he's got two years left on his contract. let's give it another year.

oh, and i certainly don't want N.O. to take trade advice from a Bulls fan.

Hear hear!!!

Naturally, it would boil down to what's to be gotten by trading him. I would imagine NO's weighing out all of the potential scenarios - both, in regard to this season and next. :dunno:

that makes sense. i guess the confusing part is the assumption that we can get more for him this summer rather than next.

Exactly!! Why trade LMA now for the same freaking contract, yet with a lesser player? Noah won't stay in Portland, and Boozer is on his last big contract. The only good thing about Boozer is the $16m owed him for 2014-15, but LMA's expiring would be a better asset, anyhow, since any team that gets him would hold his Bird rights on his next contract. Nobody is going to offer Boozer a max deal once his current contract is up. He's dead weight after this season, except for the cap space. Portland can keep LMA and still have the option of trade or cap space by letting his deal expire.

Why are we still talking about Chicago? Of all the rumors, Chicago makes the least sense. Bringing in someone like Noah makes no sense if Aldridge is gone.

This had already been brought up, but would you trade Aldridge, Matthews, and a pick (negotiable) to GS for Lee, Thompson, and Barnes?

Noah doesnt' make as much sense now that all of the good pfs are off the market anyway.

Wrong thread ABM. That has been mentioned in a few of the GS threads and Mr. PG said he approved of it.

I'm guessing we're talking about Chicago because it's one of the few threads the last two days that wasn't posted by some guy sporting a chub, and it pertains to basketball. Plus, Denny continues down the road of posting increasingly incoherent/irrational posts involving the Bulls.

lol where did you get this, and your avy?

Yeah, I posted before that I wouldn't mind that deal. I think Barnes is a steal, and I was wrong about him during the draft. He'd be a solid bench player the next few years.

the other thing is ... i would not accept Boozer in such a trade. he's overrated. Noah is good and a menace on the court, but he won't stay and i'm pretty sure he's as close to untouchable that the Bulls currently have on their roster.

hahahaha... internet chicks. I just don't get it. Seems like we've hit a lull of sorts until the 10th.

If Noah leaves Chicago, it will only be for LA, Miami, or NYC. He's as cosmopolitan a player as there is right now, considering his upbringing. I just can't imagine him enjoying Portland.

Double posts by santeesioux and me? That hasn't happened here in ... ever?

Somebody feed the meter!

Noah would be the only piece i would want included in such a deal. i don't think he'd be happy here (other than playing with Nico). i would nix such a deal if i were GM.

Strawman.

Just in case you don't get it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man

A straw man or straw person, also known in the UK as an Aunt Sally,[1][2] is a type of argument and is an informal fallacy based on misrepresentation of an opponent's position.[3] To "attack a straw man" is to create the illusion of having refuted a proposition by replacing it with a superficially similar yet unequivalent proposition (the "straw man"), and to refute it, without ever having actually refuted the original position.

You to a "T"

I suggested Deng, Boozer, and Taj. Maybe. You argue Boozer vs. LMA.

You asked if Cleveland offered #1 and #19 for Boozer. Just wow. I have no idea where you get that sort of thing.

However, the Cavs seemed to have been interested in the #1 for one of those other guys I suggested, Deng.

http://nba.si.com/2013/06/24/nba-draft-trade-rumors-luol-deng-paul-pierce/

The Cavs apparently have interest in Deng and he certainly would be a terrific role model and leader-by-example for a young squad; the Cavs also have a gaping hole at that position and if they have interest in vying for a playoff spot next season, a rookie out of this draft isn’t going to move them appreciably closer. That said, there is skepticism that the Cavs are actually serious about parting with the No. 1 pick because they keep asking for assets as if it were the first pick in next year’s draft.”

Do kids always follow after the ways of their parents, though? Where you gettin' that, Willis?

I'm getting at that Noah would not need to stay in Portland, nor would he want to stay in Portland, after his most recent deal. The team won't be good enough to compete for a title. I wouldn't be surprised if he went back to Chicago somehow, and teamed with LMA that way after two years.

It's Imaginary GM Land stuff, anyhow. I prefer it to reading some of you clown yourselves over a new poster, though.

I see what your up to Denny. Make a couple of very provocative comments, let the posters go off about how ridiculous said comments are, come back a few pages later say some other stuff and soon there are 80 comments in a thread that should have 12.

Denny, you are a mad genius.
