Reports say drury and bird should be ready in next week or 2. Bird should join the team and be worked back in as our first baseman maybe platooning with austin till he knocks the rust off. The bigger question is drury.

German opened a lot of eyes yesterday with his repertoire of pitches and with the 6 or 7 starts at least he has left has a chance to make a claim on a rotation spot. Also, Sheffield was promoted the other day to triple A and by the all star break he will be in a position to be called up in case of an injury or just poor performance. The yankees are just freaking loaded with talent anywhere and everywhere you look.
