Brian Cashman: way short in the personnel department, hires the wrong manager
Boner Boone : completely mismanaged his games pieces especially in the area of pitching
Giancarlo Stanton: from NLMVP to a bust in Gotham, last 40 season games and playoffs with his best ceiling fan imitations.
Sonny Gray: perpetual fuck up every time he pitched
Luis Severino: pitching lessons from Pedro did not help in key game, not an ace.
Gary Sanchez: failed to show for most of the year fails to do anything when he does
Greg Bird: total bust at first base, is Voit a legit replacement or just lucky.

Those IMHO were the top 7 major contributors to the Yankees failure. I'm sure that those of you who post will come up with some excellent choices of your own.

Note to Texeria: fuck you you which way the wind blows Boston shill!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Yankees hold a $12.5 million option on Gardner, their longest-tenured player, for 2019. If Trashman puts Gardner on the free-agent market, the club will owe Gardner a $2 million buyout.

Gardner, 35, hit .236/.322/.368 with 12 homers and 45 RBIs in 140 games this past season. A career .261 hitter, each of Gardner's 11 big league seasons have been played in the Bronx.

Gardner is one of 3 Yankee contestants in the Gold Glove race.
Gardner has a good glove, not a great glove.

If MLB had a Rubber Arm Award he would
Win it hands down....

What to do about Gardner, in an overcrowded field....buyout and move on.

I doubt Trashman has the brains to obtain an Elite SP, while unloading the albatross contract of Stanton....

A River Avenue Blues article states Gardner would like to be back in '19 and that he should be signed and used as a late inning defensive type. That dog will no longer hunt in MHO. Hopefully Frazier will be in playing shape by Spring Training and ready for the season going north. Dropping BG & CC takes what , about 20 mil.

^^^^^as for BG & CC, although you both want to be back in 2019, I would personally thank both of them
for their service with the Yankees and say, “It’s time to leave and move on.” But Trashman needs a pair
to perform this deed....unfortunately, he does not meet this prerequisite.

Which leads me that Trashman has long over stayed his perch as Yankee GM. The way things are run in
Yankeeland these days, he’ll need to die first which would be the only way he ever moves on.

Speaking of which, one year of Boner was too much for me. The way he treated popular players (though I believe
Trashman was behind the moves) was totally an ass kissing job. Kept putting particular players into game
and they continued to fail with flying colors!

Getting one , but two are needed, starting pitchers for a patchwork starting staff.

Obtaining Stanton.....huge guffaw by Trashman. This guy broke strike out records held for decades.
Sad to know he ain’t going anywhere.

Another huge guffaw by ???(guess who) was obtaining Sonny Doomsday Gray. It was as if I was watching
a little leaguer shitting his pants every five days. To this day Trashman says the guy has talent. An asshole
telling us a fool is good.

Sanchez, to understate, was a big disappointment in the field and at the plate. It used to be an honor to
wear Yankee pinstripes.....this guy showed no intensity.

Bird, I believe, was branded by Yankee management with no support. Sure the guy had problems at the
plate but he was admonished to the bench. And this is where BaBoone failed again in not helping the
youth on this team. There were others who belonged on the bench but stayed in the lineup.

Andujar was the Yankees surprise player from Day 1. Who in management was there to help him with
his defensive problems? Even the thought of trading him is so unYankee, someone in management
is leaking.....but this is the “new” image.

Severino does not have the mental stability to be a #1 starter. He gets rattled quickly. The second half of the
year was as if he ran out of gas & was pitching on fumes. That has to change fast.

Saw an article on Cashmans assessment of Boner. Ol Cash said Boner did a great job despite huge criticisms by Yankee Fans. Stated that he worker with Torre for 10 years, Girardi for 10, looks forward to 10 with Boner. Bad gig as far as I'm concerned.

A GM that’s turned into a despot! :smiley-bonk: :smiley-pat:

^^^^^Michael, if I may......I’ve been cranking my venom towards him for a while now;
he just has taken a too complacent tone with his mediocre moves that he forces down
our throats. He then reasons that these players are working out well. He is one of the
most preeminent bullshitters which declassifies him in the ring of Yankee heraldry.

That's okay you replaced Rob. :rotfl:

.....^^^^^ :biglaugh:

A crown and title I am more than thrilled & willing to surrender. :theking:

take it please take it, my pen hath run dry, my brain burned out, and complacent to stick with dime-store trash novels...
:notworthy:

Yes I have become too burned out to write manifestos and treatises, unless of course I get really pissed off by some bonehead move by Trashman, even then I'm getting too old to get too excited at least that's what Kim says... :cowboy:

after writing for years with my hair on fire, I have no hair left to burn....so take it, please take it, the manifestos are all yours....cartoon-hair-on-fire.jpg

I really don’t want it......there are so few but damn important outrages that I take to heart. Yet, like you
I get tired and ‘burnt out’. My alter ego says, ‘ Let the pot boil over.....the waters will soon subside’.

So were there good things, yep there were.

Judge and Hicks made a fine outfield duo.
Gregorius overall was a stud.
Andujar needs defense work (hire Nettles) but the kid had heart, hustle, and a damn good stick man.
Torres needs defensive work but again pretty much played his ass off
Romine, solid overall year handling the staff, got his share of hits hustles.
Montgomery, awaiting his return from TJ surgery always have liked him
Toe & Tyler Wade, two damn good utility pieces

If I forgot anyone add on fans.

Now off of the free agent list with options picked up by their respective teams:

Paul Goldschmidt

Madison Bumgarner

Pablo Sandoval

Carlos Carrasco

Adam Wainwright signs with Cardinals

White Sox decline James Shields will do a buy out. (Don't let Cashman find this out)

baBoone did only one thing of notice, only one....
He won the NYC Bubblegum bubble blowing contest...

I imagine Andujars glove and arm will only improve with time. His hot bat will only get hotter.
What to do about D-rob. Wouldn't bother me either way, sign him, or let him go???

D-Rob throws too many pitches, and always has. He can be extremely effective but dammit does he keep me on the edge of my seat with those full counts.

I hope to help Trashmen trades off Louis Cesspool, German and a few other bullpen wannabes.
I am sure trash man will give Adams a Chance, pun intended. I do not think Adam's has a chance with the Yankees. I never saw anything special out of him last year 93 mile per hour fastball just will not cut it in the big leagues.
I do not see Sheffield as being a savior in the Bronx; I see him as just another flunky. Another 93 mile per hour fastball pitcher, and it will take years for him to learn finesse.

What the hell is with the Yankees drafting kids that cannot throw anything above 93 mph??? WTF???

I wanna see flamethrowers, with sliders from hell and unhittable curveballs. I hate to say it but the Yankees fkd up when they let you Eovaldi go....

I'd love to see Trashman trade Stanton for Goldschmidt, but what to do with Voit???
Voits cheap salary and age 27, would be a wiser move than the 31 yr old Goldy imho. Just spitballin'...

The million-dollar question is which starting pitchers plural will Trashman bring home. Hopefully the dog will bring home a bone, and not some shitty diapers...

OK point to ponder Robertson or Britton keep one or both. Robertson scared the hell out of me on many occasion that would make me favor Britton. And yeah get rid of the bullpen wannbes like Cessa and German. Every time those two looked right they turned sour. Adams, Sheffield, and Loaisiga were not impressive but to be fair they faced some really shaky situations. A look in ST may calm them down for the season. First pitcher out though has to be Smiling Sonny Gray.

I agree Michael Cesspool and Gray have got to go, but who wants them???

Looking over the Free Agent lists I see a lot of late 30 somethings out there. You'd think that people would have learned after some of last years late signings at reduced rates to the bigger book hopefuls. I see Moustakas turned down a nice offer from the Brewers and went FA. Last year I believe Moustakas lost a qualifying offer with KC, then came running back there for a job at lower salary. Now he's one year older in a market that may have no place for him.

^^^^^if Yankee trash, Sonny Gray, ever becomes another team’s treasure, Trashman belongs in
the crapper.

I'm a believer that gray will be a decent pitcher again once he gets away from the ny pressure. He has proven to be one of many players that couldn't handle ny.

I agree Mel.
