Seems like there's more complaining about this win then the loss on Friday night.

A much needed win no doubt but, we're complaining about the win Vic just the way Girardi went about getting it. I mean 7 pitchers including wasting your set up guy & closer came off as shear panic on Girardi's part.

Indeed.

...what difference does it make how many pitchers a manager uses to secure a win?...how is it panicking? ...who was hurt?...what pitcher was damaged/wasted?...Jesus Christ, Miller threw THREE pitches, Betance threw 17-18.

...if he had left Pineda in and Pineda screws the pooch and the Yanx lose that game, Girardi would have been vilified for that too...he can't win.

All due respect Ron, Girardi definitely over thought & over managed this one. And the fact that Betances only threw 17-18 pitches or Miller throwing only 3 doesn't even matter since they never should have been used to begin with. The only thing missing in this thread was Pasta giving his usual anti Girardi remarks. Though in this case I see several of us here would have agreed with him.

But WTF, we got the needed win & its time to move on. Lets get 2 of 3 from the Mutts & do likewise or better to the Jays.

...rick, as I pointed out before, Miller and Betances had not thrown in 3 days...make that 4 days if they had not pitched last night...and if they're not needed or used today, make that 5 days going into the Jays series...and inactivity can have adverse effects just as over use can.

...Betances and Miller are both still available for today if needed...you, yourself pointed out to rigatoni boy the other day than none of us really has any idea of what's going on behind the scenes...right? But isn't exactly what's going on here?

...would you be feeling better about Girardi if he had not used pitchers that needed work anyway, but lost the game?...of course not.

Keep it up you two. You are headed for a timeout................

...it's simply a discussion..."no posters were harmed in the making of this thread".

Per that genius Wallace Matthews I got the idea that a 5-0 lead seemed to be a lock. As many years as I've followed this game its been my experience that a lead is not a lock until the final pitch of the game end results in an out. His article also inferred that the Yankees should forget the division because of the Toronto lead. My experience has been that your lead is not complete until you have a lead larger than remaining games. Object of the game especially now is to win as many as you can. Maybe its not likely but Toronto may run into a cold spell.

...yeah, I read that same article...what a joke...I put Wallace fucking Matthews right up there with Skip Bayless.

...hey, trust me, it's by far the first time rick and I don't see eye to eye on the Yanx...sometimes we're simply opposite sides of the same coin.

I just thought Joe got a little excessive in that game JMO. Hopefully we leave Citi- field with 2 out of three.

I'm surprised Pasta hasn't jumped all over this.

It was family weekend at U of Miami, what an experience, included was the cane / husker game , tailgated, very insane event!

Anyway, no reason to jump on it rick, been telling you guys bout this for a long time now, some get it, some will find every excuse to defend, that's life! Happy to hear we took 2 of 3

Go yanks! Ohhh as far as the ny giants , someone has to go!

Coughlin will at season's end.

I agree, the play calling in the final few minutes of BOTH games has been a joke, someone DEFINITELY needs to go & yeah Vic, it'll probably be Coughlin.

And to be honest, Eli had said in the past that he didn't want to play without Coughlin... now with the new Contract, Giants might try to force grandpa out sooner...

I don't see how Coughlin survives this season so I readily expect him to "retire" at season's end. Reese like it or not will then get to pick his first head coach as GM and look to turn things around.
