Also I don't think Romine has ever played 1st base.
 
Saw video of that Ellsbury wall crash on River Avenue Blues, looks like it may have smarted a bit. That being said Ells and the other speedster can't seem to find passing gear. Glad to see those kids in there and making thing happen. Yankees need to put their foot on the gas and sweep this series. Buck the Orioles!!!!!!!!!!!

In a recent interview Girardi mentioned how he'd like to clinch the WC as soon as possible so he could rest his veteran players. I think the ass-wipe falls into the category of a veteran player. But............

That's all he did all season. Rest this one Rest that one....... maybe he needs a day off. And as far as Arod I think after today he is going to REST him until the wildcard game.

...there is no Girardi Gate... as with the previous game, Ellsbury is still "day to day"...but who knows, maybe Meredith will get another anoymous phone call.

With today being a DHer and and with the PS nearly here I would think that resting/platooning certain players should be expected.
 
I have no doubt that Jacoby (there's nothing wrong with me) Ellsbury will be well enough to play in the 2nd game.

As far as the game, story of the season, A lead off triple & they can't get him in.
 
Headley has failed so many times with a runner at third with less than two outs I've lost count. That's why his RBI totals suck.

I don't see Houston or LAA squandering opportunities like these. Tough road to the ALDS....when are these guys gonna play with some urgency?
 
You have to like the opposing team, even if playing away, as long as they have a mediocre LHP start against these Yanks.
 
Shreve is horrible. They better win later because this was a mailed in performance if I've ever seen one.

And apparently getting HFA for Tuesday's game is not really that important to Girardi.

True story guys, Shreve coming in the game I decided to take a run to the store. As I was walking out the door I mumbled "It will be 7-0 when I get back" You just can't make this shit up.
