Ok guys it's that time of the year again. Feel free to post any rumors or links about the Yankees or any Free Agent or Team you are interested in.

I'm on the E-mail list from Steinbrenner Fields got two nice ones during the World Series and out of respect for that Series I delayed posting this info. Beginning in August '16 Steinbrenner Field was placed on renovations costing 40 million by completion and readied by Spring Training '17. Includes in the renovations are more luxury boxes for the dick munchers, overhead areas for the rank and file to improve game viewing points and a new gift shopIn a brief video Hal Steinbrenner was really jeeped on the facility and the exciting new players. Damn Hal glad to see you show interest. The first ST game at home is 2/24/17 against the Phillies. Spring Training Tickets go on sale this coming Monday. Opening Day '17 will see the Yankees at Tampa Bay. I'm looking forward to the season and hope to see Headley and Ellsbury dealt, and hope CC can continue with some of the quality starts he showed us last year. The only Baseball Timeline I care about is the one showing that the Yankees have not shown up for a World Series for nine seasons.

^^^"dick munchers"?[/QUOTE

My first good job after I left military service was at an Orlando Based Cable TV Company with Corporate Offices in Pompano Beach. Dick Munchers was an uncomplimentary term our lead field engineer used instead of brass, high hats, suits or whatever. The term was applied to those who most fit the description and there were more than one or two "corporate types" deserving of that description. I had an instantaneous rapport with the term, placed it right in the vocabulary.

Although I never felt secure when Chapman enters a game with RISP. Though his own PS era was nice, he let too many inherited runners score. Never my idea of a Fireman, Door Slamming, Closer, and all fall short of the glory of MO'....
Love Chapmans exploding fastball unlike any other, yet I'd rather see Chapman back in NY, than Jansen, simply due to being a southpaw.

Aroldis allowed:
NLDS - 2 out of 2 inherited runners to score
NLCS - 2 out of 4 inherited runners to score
WS - 1 out of 5 inherited runners scored

shit, maybe Jansen is the answer, tho' I'm no fan of his. I'm still not sure on Melancon either. Glad to hear Severino will be around and hopefully Luis finds his groove...

I don't subscribe to "Insider" will not pay money for some one elses opinion but espn always shows a smidgen of an article to read. Todays teaser was that the Cubs plan on keeping or replacing Fowler, and replacing Chapman. Never liked Chapman coming to the Yankees but in the end he proved to be a nice chip. I don't want to see the Yankees bring him back, let him sign with Boston and be an asset to the Red Sox in the same manner that Price was. Sevey proved to be a pretty good middle innings guy last season, if it ain't broke don't fix it let that man boogie woogie.

...same here....no way I pay "extortion money" for the perceived privilege of reading someone else's biased "opinion"...makes about as much sense as grocery stores who require you to obtain a scannable "discount card" in order to get their best price...I mean, I'm thinking "Hey, I'm here in your store looking to spend my money on your food but if I want the "discounted price" I have to show you my card first?"

...no thank you.

Michael, I envy the shit out of you, being able to attend ST games there in your backyard, that's as good as it gets. Especially for obtaining Autographs, when during the season getting one before a game is almost impossible. In ST its to be expected, if not have a day just to meet the players, have pics taken, and get autos also....

However, I'd wear my pinstripe speedos into the Trop for a Yanx Game, or Spa event. lol, j/k..... I'd not try on a pair of speedos anything short of a $$$ dare; but never in public...! lmao...

In '15 the Yankees had a promotion for the small fee of $450.00 one could get their picture taken with and meet two player of their choice. Really grossed me out, these guys make millions and want to charge for an autograph. I'm not really jeeped up on autographs but at a ST game in '88 at Tinker Field I got a scorecard autograph and brief chat with Billy Martin free. I considered that a huge plus over getting a phot with A-hole for 450.00. I am planning on going over to Steinbrenner Field sometime next week and see how things are going. With all the new kids showing up it will certainly be more exciting than the former prima donnas. Would like a chat with Girardi have always liked him and he did get a couple rings with the Yanks as a player.

...Tinker Field?...you mean the one in Orlando?...I remember when I was a kid they took my whole Little League team to see a game there.

That would be fantastic a moment, to chat with Joe.

You know back in 86, I attended the Sports Collectors Natl. Convention in Anaheim, a 3 day show. Day One and Two had the HOF'rs: Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Mantle, Mays, Yaz, Muhamed Ali along with 2 dozen other Athletes of high stature. Day 3 saw younger players, like Dykstra (fk u), but it was Jose Fkng Canseco, who shocked the entire Convention by charging $25. On top of this, Jose signed his name wildly as JCans, and it was a fkng joke. Few bought his tickets, and those fools who did, complained to the show promoter wanting their money back, for half an illegible autograph. It was clear Jose was a POS way back then....

Holy Tinker to Evers to Chance. Tinker Field built in 1914, that had to be incredible experiences on you two Vets lives. I was in Orlando a few times, but never made it over to see Tinker Field, but I did make it to Tinker AFB, if that counts, bwahaaa!!!

I couldn't help myself, to brush up on Tinker Field, thanks for the input.

That's the one. At the time I had a friend (Astros Fan) who had some pretty damn good connections and we had great seats at that Yankees Twins Game. Other than getting Martins auto and a brief chat the other cool thing was watching Lefty Carlton pitch when trying out to make the Twins. Did root for Carlton to do well, we always root for the man. Got to see some great ST Astros Yankees game out at Kissimme in the 90's and early oughts. Met Bill Virdon, Ed Ott, and Jack Billingham out there as well. Great times. Saw Martin play during the '56 season, and get traded after that night club rukus in '57. Martin was a scrappy dude, not politically correct but a damn good manger. Steinbrenner should have just let him stay. I was serving in Germany when that Reggie takeout happened in '77, Christ it made Armed Forces TV Highlights a rare event. I'm not a big person but when face to face with Martin he seemed even smaller than I. The man was a scrapper, a damn good Yankee who played on some great teams.

^^^yeah, come think of it, I recall the Orlando team being the farm team for the Twins and were known as the Orlando Twins...and the city where I was born had the Jacksonville Suns.

...Dad took me to Ft Lauderdale a couple of times to see The Mick play during ST.

^^^^ and it was a very sad day, the afternoon of Dec. 26th 1989; when announced Billy died; sliding down an icy snowy 300 ft embankment on a windy upstate hills road, his truck driven by a friend, (both weren't wearing seat belts) coming to a stop near his house....

xlnt article on that fateful day, and the possible return of Billy for a 6th go round in NY....

http://www.nytimes.com/1989/12/26/o...lled-in-crash-on-icy-road.html?pagewanted=all

Billy had moxy unlike few men. Dick Williams was a Martinesque type Mgr., or vice versa, or both and a few others, were icons from an earlier era of dynasties, damned determined, and brought back another Dynasty of the late 70s.

Pinella's take on Billy is pure class...!!!

ESPN insider is absolutely absurd. Please pay me for the honor of reading my brilliant column.

Blue Jays will extend Qualifying Offers to Encarnacion and Joey Bats as per Jon Heyman.

Not surprised on Napoli but a but at Davis, I think he wanted to stay an Indian. I'm surprised that Toronto would make an offer to Bautista after all the shit he talked last season. If I were him I'd take it, I don't think there'll be lines bidding for his services. Though 34 at next season Encarnation must choose wisely I'd figure his best deal may be two years.

Rangers have not found a Trade for Derek Holland and will Decline his Option as per MLBTradeRumors.com

Red Sox have interest in Carlos Beltran as per Jon Heyman.

Royals will not give Qualifying Offers to Kendrys Morales and Edinson Volquez as per Jeffrey Flanagan.
