^^^^ well IMO he's better than Samardzija & he got $90M over 5.

CBS Sports reports that the Dodgers are in talks to acquire Jake Odorizzi as per Jon Heyman.

Seems to me that the Yanx brass is content with treading water for at least another year.
...the reason this situation is even present is because they are being haunted and hamstrung by illadvised transactions from the past.
...the chickens have long since come home to roost.

^^ Yeah Ron its beginning to look like that. 2017 better bring some great things.

That's what I've been saying. They pretty much have to because of the big money they still have tied up.

...and as a Yankee fan I find this inexcusable and there has to be accountability. The fact is that Cashman is the GM and this situation was created on his watch, and not only was he not fired for allowing the roster and its contracts to become such a yoke around the franchise's neck, he was instead 3 more years to straighten out the mess that he himself was the Father of....and the Steins seem to be equally inept

...I hate to say it, but the Yankees "mystique" is long gone and no one fears them anymore.
.

The real shame here is that the season hasn't even started yet & already the fans have absolutely nothing to look forward to for 2016

...Rick, for me there's no passion for the franchise right now...I mean, there's no "face" of the Yankees, not even one player that makes me want to follow them, root for them, much less spend money and go to the ball park to see them play.

...let me ask everyone a simple question; If someone were to ask you what Yankee player first comes to mind when you think of the Yankeea?...see what I mean?

...hopefully, things will eventually change for the better.

Mariners have re-signed Hisashi Iwakuma on a 1 year deal as per Ken Rosenthal.

exactly, if I answer that question, it would be Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, The Mick, Whitey, Yogi, Elston Howard, Munson, Mattingly, Guidry, and Jeter, Mo', .....not in that order...!

oh, and Dan Pasqua, and Hensley Bam Bam Meulens, this team as of last year, and this upcoming year, reminds me so much of those early bad 90s teams, but the main difference is no one on those bad early 90s teams, were making 25 million with a ten year lease....

Trashman is a fk up of outrageous proportions, and has brought shame to the Legendary Organization, so has Hank......

oh wait, I'm not waving my pom poms, or supporting the bullshit brass, my bad, I can't put down the Yankees, that's blasphemy in one's book, and I can't agree with anyone here, isn't that right?

So let me flip to my psychotic side, the Yanx will win 103 game next year, and CC is an ACE, A-Roid is the greatest player ever, while DiDi is the 2nd coming of Jeter, and Drew should of been offered a 30 million dollar contract, shit,......I'm still trying to get over "bobble hands" Roberts, ..........I still don't know why the Yanx didn't make the 1st ever Bobble Hands instead of bobble head, that would of been a collectible hoot........!!! Fk all of you guys, I'm right, your wrong, and waaaaaaaaaahhh nobody likes me......

Ron I agree, the Yankees always had at least that one player that you wanted to see bat. The player where you just "Held it in" until his AB was done. Currently there is no such player on this team.

Amen!

And please add to this his inability actually use his minor league system as anything other than trade chips. Cashman never seems to understand that the Core4 he inherited enabled him to leverage FA signings. And there was little emphasis in our minors in terms of preparing for the day Jeter would retire. We should have had a glut of infielders and LHP...but with all the piss poor deals and horrible FA signings we didn't have the quality picks or talent recognition. All this is another multiplier to the failures of Cashman to create and maintain mystique.

FOX Sports reports that the Astros and Orioles "remain aggressive suitors" for Yovani Gallardo as per Jon Morosi.
