You're right, not normally at this time of year but you never know what GM you might catch asleep at the wheel or what team who may have started out unexpectedly bad like Baltimore or the Dodgers who may be looking to sell or perhaps upgrade or shake their roster up. The Yanx have a lot log jams at certain positions and a lot of movable and spare parts that may be of value to another team.
...I suppose what I'm saying is that it's not necessary to wait till the trade deadline to make a move.
I agree on not waiting but some people want action right now or...a month ago. At the end of the day most players will hit the stats on the back of their baseball card.

Oh, I knew what you meant. I'm just saying that if Cashman can catch another GM in a position he'd rather not be in and if the price is right and if it benefits the Yanx, hell, I say do it. Hey, he might even find a way to jettison Ellsbury...lol.
