Game Thread Yankees vs. Astros Sunday 7/2/17, 2:10 pm

Joe Torre lasted 12 seasons and that was with going to the playoffs every year, four championships and six world series appearances. Giradi is in his 10th season and while I've always supported him to me his time should be growing short here. When I see a guy just predictably continue to throw guys like Wade and Frazier to the bottom of the lineup so that Headley and the awful Carter go back to back ahead of them that's the last straw. Like with his handling of the pen it's an ingrained stubbornness I've seen enough of.

Torre was also handed the keys to a Cadillac Team with George to sign the checks for necessary additions. Girardi inherited a team that after winning it all in his second season lost Big George in the Third. The Steinbrenner Tadpoles and Cashman turned the Cadillac into a Yugo stocked with a bunch of do nothing prima donnas. Yes Girardi has his moments and as much as I've supported Girardi I'm beginning to wonder myself. He does have employees that can't do their jobs, that is on the "Brass".

I can't recall last time I even saw a Yugo??? Had to of been in the early 90's, late 80's. There trademark chimney exhausts, aka James Bond rear Smoke Screens....

Yugo's with their 1 month, 100 mile warranties.....Commy cars filled with trash for insulation.

It's called a Yugo because when it broke down the driver and the passenger would argue on who would walk to the nearest phone to call for help. You go, no you go.

At least the pain is over early. Get your 4th of July celebrating started now and forget about this nonsense. I'm having a beer because well why not?

I'm not aloud to start yet my Husband will have pitch a fit.

Astros Broadcast Team: Geoff Blum, hit a game tying bomb for Chicago in the '05 Series aginst Houston that won a game.

Todd Kalas: Former Broadcast member for the Rays.

What a crew, and talking plenty of shit as the Yankees embarrass themselves once again and Boston is kicking the shit out of Toronto.

Yanking pitching has decayed......more than I thought when the season began. Major league ball players
hit the most HRs in a one month period(June) than ever before. Pitching across the board is on the
decline in MLB.

Middle relief sucks. Now, the back end is showing its weaknesses. The starters are inconsistent...........and at the
end of today, the Yankees sit in second place, 3 games out.

I don't know if any of you guys are interested but the All-Star Selection is on ESPN tonight at 7:00 pm. I voted for all the Yankees except Headless. The only one that deserves to go now is Judge.

Though I'm all Yankee in heart & mind. I'm a fair cuss from way back when. I only selected Judge.

^^^^^Yeah. It's tee off time at Minute Maid Park, Houston. Astros flexing and celebrating July 4th early!!!!!!

Around the league Mookie Betts of Boston had a career today........drove in 8 runs vs. pathetic Toronto
pitching.

Carter is so bad it's not even funny. Does anyone notice that when he does make contact with the ball he actually seems surprised?

I just told my Husband if you don't let me have a Drink I'm not Cooking for a week. He finally gave in.

Sadly, I saw this coming today after yesterday's gut punch. Beyond that though they're heading towards 22-28 in their last 50 games. That's obviously a deeper trend.

^^^^^I can't believe Cashman paid Carter 3 mil + a $ 500,000 bonus. Man, I could do what he has done and
I would have been much cheaper!!!!!!!!!!

Somebody on Twitter said they could've just paid $3.50 for a cardboard cutout and served the same purpose.

Yankees have not won a series since June 10th. They have lost 5 of 6 series, only tying the lowly White Sox.
I' d say they're in a slump.

Yeah it's pretty bad now. Ever since that first win in Anaheim it has turned into a complete nightmare and they can't get out of their own way. Not to mention all the injuries.

Funny how in '14 the Yankees added Beltran and McCann. I don't think either of them played to expectation in all phases of the game. Beltran traded to the Rangers foes to the playoffs. Now both are with Houston getting praised to the skies for their contributions. Funny how shit works out.
