NOTE: This will be the 1st time since 2008 that CC Sabathia has not started an opening day game. And fwiw: just as well as the Yankees have gone 1-5 in those starts.

PROBABLE LINE UP.........(Spring training numbers in parenthesis)

CF - Ellsbury (0 / 1 / 200) = 12 games
LF - Gardner (0 / 3 / 186) = 22 games
RF - Beltran (0 / 4 / 225) = 15 games
C - McCann (2 / 6 / 234) = 19 games
1B - Teixeira (1 / 4 / 250) = 21 games
3B - Headley (3 / 8 / 305) = 21 games
DH - Rodriquez (3 / 4 / 267) = 19 games
2B - Drew (3 / 9 / 259) = 21 games
SS - Gregorius (0 / 6 / 271) = 20 games

I seriously wish CC wasn't with the team period, but I'll take what I can get here.
 
Too bad the Yankees can't deal that blob. Cashman & the Katzenjammers should be bowing their heads in shame should they attend todays game. What a fucking joke!

I can live with that lineup. (vs RH)
 
I seriously don't like Gardner batting 2nd. And IMO if his poor hitting continues he'll be dropped down in a heartbeat.

BTW: for those that don't know it, Joe Torre will be throwing out the 1st ball.

Torre - good gesture.
Gardner batting 2nd - sometimes you just have to kinda stick with the player and let it ride......the trick is for the MGR, to recognize and make "adjustments" sooner than later and THAT is the one STAT which can't be nailed down in cold hard numbers regarding MGRs.

Katzenjammers??? Would that be another name for the Brothers Grimm (Steinbrenner brothers)?
 
We lucked out here in the fkn desert, the game is telecast here. With my luck Time Warner Cable, will pre-empt the fkn game with a different game, like they have all ST.

Thank you for stating the obvious, my concern is just how long Girardi will wait (if necessary) before he moves him.
 
Torres only there to collect ARods drug testing sample....1st pitch is a bonus.
 
He should get good pitches to hit in that spot. If he doesn't take advantage and still does his sightseeing up at the plate than screw him.

Man, I've missed this, but now my computer is in a separate room from the TV, so I won't be posting much during games. Unless I can get the game on a radio, or add a 4th TV to this place....Go Yanx...........:party:

The Katzenjammer Kids were cartoon characters originated by a German and first run in American papers from the 19 teens through the late forties on first run. They were a couple of smart ass kids who spoke English with a German accent and their antics usually end resulted in their parents giving them an ass whipping. If George could see what those twi idiots have done to his Yankees he'd be going up on their asses as well.

I'm obviously not awake yet, even after 2 cups of strong coffee, and Yes, I totally spaced out the fact Our Son is living with us again, and has that Laptop....altho' I still prefer an old mechanical type writer keyboard. Those laptops are touchy fkrs, I'm always hitting a delete key....!!!
 
The more things change the more they stay the same. Both Tex & than McCann, wide open left side & they didn't even make an attempt. I don't get it, a free hit.
 
I spoke to soon, Tanaka giving up a 5 spot in the 3rd. SHIT!

Awesome start to the season. Just what was needed to quiet the Tanaka alarmists.
