Let's take a moment to remember the fallen on the anniversary of 9/11/01. As a fellow New Yorker, I will never forget exactly where I was when this horrific event took place.

You're a sweetheart Lil, thanks I'll start it up tomorrow. And yeah, this day still haunts me as I worked not far from that area & remember the day like it was yesterday.

I was at work in Harrison, NY not far from the city and I remember thinking I was going to die because I kept getting phone calls from everyone telling me about another plane that crashed. I worked in one of those high rise buildings. A friend of mine passed who worked in The World Trade Center. Sad.

Given this day being what it is it sure would be nice to see the Yankees come up with a win. Line is on Toronto, article on ESPN states that without Tex & Eovaldi this Team can't win.

Just to add something, after going 0-2 over his 1st 3 starts Severino is now 3-0 with a 0.98 ERA, 16 strike outs & a 209 opponent batting average.

Credit to Sevy, the man has stones no doubt, thing is what will his team bring?

Every team has injuries. While they're big loses it just means other guys need to step up. Sevy needs to lock it down tonight because the way it's going right now who knows if we get much of anything off Price.

'78 Yankees won the World series minus Chambliss and Randolph because Dent and Doyle stepped up. Can we see that from Drew and Ryan highly improbable.

Hey Vic I screwed up again, Did anyone notice it doesn't say Game Thread....lol
That's 2 days in a row.....It's time for Rick to take over.

You need it from guys like Ellsbury, Gardner, Beltran, Arod, Bird, McCann, Didi, and Headley. If you're looking for the ninth place hitter to carry you in September you might as well give it up now. Still plenty here that need to step it up and get the job done.

Eovaldi being out certainly isn't good but most of the time it's the offensive slumbers that get this club into the trouble. Even with an overworked pen the pitching all and all has held together pretty well in my opinion.

Tonight is a really huge game. Getting a win by any means necessary is needed. The winner of this one has a huge advantage if you consider the chances of a likely split of tomorrow's double header. Get tonight's game, split tomorrow and then setup a big one on Sunday.

Drew and Ryan were the only two I could campare with Dent and Doyle. Yes the others will have to steep up ditto the staff.

Has anyone but me noticed that after going 9-12 raising his average from 192 to 211 that the old Drew has returned going 1 for his last 15? I hope he can help the team down the stretch since Girardi seems to love the guy but it wouldn't surprise me to see his average drop back under 200 by season's end.

Not only is he returning to his former BA he's also contributing with flawed infield plays.

And yet somehow I have this feeling that come seasons end Cashman will resign him.

...when the game is on the line (high leverage) Drew's #s are .164 .233 .255 .488...and when it doesn't really matter (low leverage) his #s are .234 .304 .505 .809.

Like I said. It's easiest for all of us to bash the lowest hanging fruit. But if we're expecting the ninth place hitter to carry the team we're in trouble. I'd rather look at guys like Garnder who bat second and have been downright horrendous for two months now.

I can't see them winning without Eovaldi, yet I'd rather see Seve any day, well, more or less.........!

Girardi makes the line ups cards out, without Trashmans consent? Joe's got his hands tied, due to Brian's "Master-Plan"

...true, but Drew has been horrible for 2 years now and the only reason he's batting 9th is because he sucks and should never have been signed/resigned.

...nobody expects Drew to cary the team, but he should at least carry his weight...our previous 2Bman certainly didn't bat 9th...just sayin'.

B/T Cappy and Drew, I can't help but think, they're butt buddies, hanging out in Trashmans Mansion, according to 'The Plan'.....

And our previous SS didn't bat seventh so it's a silly comparison and argument from that standpoint. Any and everyone realizes he isn't and never was going to be Cano. Plus, as scary as it might be Drew has hit better than Gardner the last couple of months. It starts at the top and if we're going to continue to get that kind of nonsense at the top of order either Gardner needs to be dropped down or he's going to have to split time. On top of that if Ellsbury doesn't heat up for the stretch you can really forget it.
