C. Green (1-2, 4.94)

vs.

R. A. Dickey (8-12, 4.61)

Lineups to follow...

We can't say the pitching match favors the Yankees, pray for a starters miracle tonight, hope the Baby Bombers start dropping runs early and often.

...you just never know about knuckleballers from game to game...they're either unhittable or very hittable.

Ellsbury -CF
Headley -3B
Gregorious -SS
Teixeira -1B
Castro -2B
McCann -DH
Sanchez -C
Judge -RF
Hicks -LF

Joe stop burying the kids at the bottom of the lineup.

Blew a chance for at least one more run.

Credit ti Green, he escaped a jam. Time for the offense to drive in rather than strand runners.

Another led off double and once again he's stranded at 2b....very annoying.
Gregorius, speedy LH hitter and a good bunter should've tried for a bunt single, not a sacrifice, towards 3b. Almost inexcusable.
Just lay the bunt down, put pressure on the pitcher and 3bman to the make the play- if they throw him out, we still have a runner on 3rd with one out and they might bring the infield in...which also gives the next batter an advantage.

Bunting for a hit in that situation when you're up by a run is almost always a "good" move

Ellsbury & Headley you two are useless as boobs on a board. 9 fucking runners stranded this evening. %%%^*(^^%&$^%#$#%$&&((*^)(*

2-15 with runners in scoring position. The Yankees should be well ahead in this one. Now they have to try and scratch out a 1-0 win.

So many wasted opportunities by these Idiots tonight.

...missed opportunities...hope it doesn't come back to haunt us and spoil a great outing by Green

Watching McCann lumbering on the basepaths is nauseating.
He runs like he's pulling a truck.
Nice guy...yeah yeah...he's a catcher....yeah yeah.
He's one of those guys when on 1st base, you often see TWO different instances where he should've scored...and never does.

Nice guy....,batting .232 with 15 HRS and 45 RBI and he needs the team to get three hits to score him when he's on the bases. lmao

Joke oby Ellsbury, couldn't set a table let alone an example for the newbies, who tonight are doing better than he.

12 ^&^^&^^%^runners*^&^*&^%^%^%$%#$$stranded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A small village left on the bases tonight. Ellsbury a major culprit.

14 LOB
Ellsbury has become a serious problem.
Has evolved into a slightly better(?) than average player....and doing it as the Yankees' CF.

Could be the worst contract in baseball. Has become the classic I got my money lazy player. Doesn't even steal many bases anymore. I wish the old George was still around to call him out.

Well they were lucky enough tonight to pull out the 1-0 win in the series opener.

Betances.....if I have to make the decision here and now....
NOPE, I would NOT make him the closer, which leaves the Yanks with a big task in this rebuilding period- finding a closer.
He just seems to be much more efficient and dominant as a "8th inning guy". Quirky.

Glad the Yankees won but disappointed in the offense tonight. Green pitched much better than I thought he would in fact akin to an ace against that club. Clippard & Warren have done well. Dellin reminds me of John Wetteland, adventurous 9ths. The kids did well on offense tonight but hope Joe spaces them out a bit more. Totally Pissed with Ellsbury & Headley. Yeha Cashman you got to find a way to get them out of New York.

Gratifying win. Warren has been great since returning, hitting his spots with both his fastball and breaking ball.
Invaluable experience for Green, he now KNOWS he can pitch very well vs a good club.
Good stuff!
Young hitters have already changed the atmosphere and attitude of the team.

Judge and Green come through tonight despite the anemic offense. Nice to see the kids do well.

Time for sanchez and judge to elevate in the line up. Healey batting 2 or 3 and tex 4??? Bwahahahahahhahahaahahahahah

I can understand not wanting to put too much pressure on the kids but when the vets suck it's worth a try.

Get Austin back in there tomorrow.
Judge and Austin will soon need to make the adjustment as they both like pitches out over the plate going to RF.
Won't be long before they'll be seeing alot more inside fastballs......opposing scouts already have it in their books.

The more playing time they get will give them more time and opportunity to make their adjustments.....if they can.
