OT- time to change the clocks tonight, spring forward, fall back...

Annual basis reporting prompts opinions that there are few redeeming features of daylight saving time but it keeps on keeping on. Other than that grab the Tiger by the tail and throw him into the wall. Go Yankees, keep swatting the horsehide. Joe, time to separate Goober & Clod, it hasn't worked nor is it likely.

I love that Michael Goober and Clod where did you get that from???

ntm= GW extended daylight savings time by an additional 4 weeks, and Nixon created it to begin with. Both were considered additions to the fiscal Energy Bill(s).

YF5545- here is the rationale on both sides of the DST coin. I'm not sure anything has really been accomplished as far as what is claimed in the article below, explaining pros and cons.... at times I think its been a smoke screen up everyones ass, other than the fine people of Arizona, who do not utilize DST. Got to say the land of Goldwater really despised anything tricky dicky ever did, seems like.

It seems you have tissues. :biglaugh:

well, yeah, kinda sorta. I figured out how to change the dial on the front yard clock, I simply re-clocked the lawn by 30 degrees, and 0 mins, must of been artificial turf rug.... As for the wristwatch sun dial, I've just got to walk with my head a bit more cocked to the side; a bit more crooked than it already is....~!~

or did you say tissues....? :devilwink:

Come on now Rob my head is supposed to be spinning right now not yours. I am getting married Friday and although it is not a Church Wedding only Justice of the Peace, I still have to prepare for Guatemala. I am so preoccupied with the Yankees that I haven't even packed.

Credit to the people of Arizona for sticking to their guns on that issue.

...Bird has been scalding the ball all Spring...still has that sweet stroke...and they say his arm strength is even better than before his injury and subsequent surgery.

^^^^pray tell. What did the jock man say?

Now it's my turn to say,
And I say you're a Holliday.

Looks like we have some thumpers on this '17 Team.

Joe's got to like what he's seen this spring, thus far. He's going to have some tough decisions. Here's to hoping, Cashman doesn't try to make them for him.

Fascinasting. I remember Nixon being a power mad individual but Hoover was the real mad dog.

^^^^That makes Headley the regular 3B man! Even with all these very talented kids showing they
are better. Boy, what a bad contract will do !

I just can't stand listening to him talk. He said that Carter is the everyday 1b not Bird. Play the kids you piece of Shit.

...can't find that quote anywhere...he must have mis-spoke or somethign because it makes no sense.

...Bird is/was projected to be the every day 1Bman and everything he's done this Spring (.417 .481 .958) should reaffirm hat...Carter on the other hand, was signed to be a backup 1Bman and nothing he's done this Spring (.182 .308 .318) should change anyone's mind.

Got to agree on Bird, wonder what it might have been had Austin not gone down. Be willing to bet when Austin comes back Carter could be released or traded.

I heard Michael Kay mention it on his show, it has something to do with the pitching. He said that Carter will start against Righties and Bird will start against lefties. We shall see what happens once the Season starts.

^^^makes no sense...Carter is not only a defensive liability at 1B, he's also actually a lettle better offensively vs LHed pitching as opposed to RHed pitching (.217 .303 .466 .769)..Bird, on the other hand, is much better than Carter vs RHed pitching. (.270 .341 .574 .915 )

...I just don't see the logic.

...I think Carter might get some ABs vs the tougher LHers in the AL (Chris Sale for example) but I gotta believe that Bird will still get the lions share of starts at 1B...plus there will likely be some days off early in the season for Bird considering he's coming off surgery.
