Severino vs. Hernandez

Lineups to follow...

Isn't ironic when you are not playing well that every opponent becomes more difficult to beat.
West coast trips for this team are proving to be difficult.

Mariners coming off a series win vs. best team in American League, Houston Astros.
Yankees have not won a series in over 5 weeks.

It always comes down to pitching. This series, like all of them, will be tough.

7-16 against West Division Teams with 10 to play. Pitching is paramount but if the offense doesn't wake up and the infielders play as sloppy as they have thus far this team will be lucky to finish in third place. Getting tired of hearing about "these things will happen" during the course of the season. Fans know that, they also know that situations can be reversed which this team has failed to do. There are talented personnel on board but they lack the "killer instinct" (See 1978 Yankees).

deleted fkd up thread of my own.

Boston lost today, line tonight is on the Yankees, o wake up, play ball and win.

Veterans strewn throughout this line up. Let's see what they can do against Hernandez.
I am not holding my breath!!!!!

Got caught up in a damn good Law& Order Episode, upon finishing I thought let me check on my team. And sure enough I find them struggling, 1 hit through three. Sevy has given up three hits. Not a good scene at this point in time.

Well Sevy, the lucky horseshoe got kicked up your butt in the bottom of the fourth. Too bad the rest of your team mates have failed to show thus far.

Gardners home run excepted this bunch of duds in not lending good support to Sevy

Chapman not the most reliable closer in the game. Would not trust him with a one run lead.
He mops up. Yankees win this one 4-1. Would love to see them take 3 out of 4 here.

Yankee player of the game, Roninson Cano whos throwing error permitted two unearned Yankee runs to score. Sevey threw a good game but I still consider performances by Betances & Chapman sporty for what is expected from them

...can't remember the last time that either Chapman or Betances has a 1-2-3 inning...but I'll take the win.

Note to Cashman & Girardi: game highlights on quick pitch this AM showed Headley ain't ready for first. Play Cooper and Red Frazier, bench Headley & Ellsbury.
