...if Tanaka can out duel Ubaldo, the Yanx have a chance to sweep a possibly move 8 games up in the loss column...and though I'm sure they'll cool off somewhat, I don't see them blowing that kind of lead. Most of the division is just too mediocre.

I was hoping for a series win, a sweep would really ice the cake. With Tanaka out there it could be in the realm of possibility. As reigning AL East Champs Baltimore is the team to beat but I'm also watching the Blue Jays.

This game is gravy since they won the series already. That being said with the rest of the division floundering the time to win is now.

They've won 8 of there last 10 to create some distance but I want more. Okay so I'n greedy.

Curb stomping is the only acceptable course. Beat them while they are down and do not let up.

Great start, loaded up with nobody out for Teixeira.

After a strike out & a pop out, a bases clearing double from Headley. Yankees up 3-0

...the O's look really flat right now...gotta keep your foot on their neck.

...Yanx kicking the shit outta Ubaldo...he's missing his spots by a foot...and Ells smokes one.

This looks like the making of a rout; scalping, and taking no prisoners......

Jones deep drive to the warning track, and Gardner loses one to the Sun. He's lucky the ball didn't hit him right b/t the eyes, as he couldn't see the ball at all........:smiley-sun:

Only 2 Errors on the year, not sure what the official score keeper will call this a hit or error.....:smiley-sunce:

2nd time this year, I've seen Gardner fall over backwards.....damned day games.......!!! :smiley-sun:

...I'll say it again...the Yanx are getting the breaks and the O's are not...but that's how it goes when you're riding a hot streak.

...I wonder if Murphy can bounce a grounder off of 1B next time up...he's already hit 2B and 3B for "excuse me" hits.

Damn, just got back from taking the squeeze to the doctor, Yankees kicking some serious butt today. Like Jerry Reed sang, when you're hot you're hot, when you're not you're not. Good payback, Yankees lost some real heartbreakers to Bucks Bunch last season.

...This is the best I've seen Tanaka throw since early last year. The O's are a good hitting team...but not in this series...only 13 hits...30 hits for the Yanx.

I remember Adam Jones comments on Tanaka last season saying he'd done all his stuff in Japan. Looking at Jones and the rest of the Oriole Hitters today I'd say he brought some of his stuff here. Fuck the damn Orioles, I remember going to games at old Memorial Stadium in the early '80's. Kick their asses.

The Yanks are in the process of sweeping and beating the sh!t out of Baltimore today fair and square- beating them twice by one run and currently in the process of blowing Baltimore out in the 3rd game-Yanks have out played them, out pitched them, out scored them and have NOT yet benefited from a single UNEARNED run allowed by Baltimore... and IMHO, any talk of the Yanks getting a "break" here or there is both inconsequential and sounds like something an Orioles' fan would be saying right about...now.
"Breaks" are not the reason the Yanks are sweeping the Orioles in this series.
Imo.

Yanks at this point in the season are both clearly the best balanced team in the A.L East and one of the BEST teams in the league.

And of course this is jmho.

Ellsbury excepted the little guys did it today Drew contributing less than Gregorius, JR, or Headley.

Masahiro, looked pretty damned good, up until he gave up back to back jacks to Hardy and Machado........

Mr. Splitty-Slurve, just ran out of gas, but then Machado, has the skills, tools, and desire, with a full tank of gas, a fresh pack of cigarettes, and a 6 pack of beer...ntm: a Platinum Glove........

"I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggonit, people like me" - Stuart Smalley/Manny Machado...

Drew is one of the few guys in baseball that can go 1 for 5 and see his average go up.

^^^hey, don't sugar-coat it...tell us how you really feel.

Post Game Visitors Clubhouse, Buck pulls out his guitar, twangs up an A Chord, breaks into an old Sonny James Tune,

"Well my shirt is ragged and my pants are tore,
Aint found nothing I'm looking for,
And I want to go back, to Baltimore.

Amen, ......

Yanks vs Balt. 8 Wins-5 Losses, and we've got 6 more O's games in Sept.

Yanks needed this sweep, of an AL East Rival, to have the momentum to head to (and win) vs. - Minnesota, Texas, and Chicago......Don't put the brooms away not yet, the Yanx want nothing more than a sweep of Tejas in Arlington......

Texas has owned the Yanks, and why I don't get it, Yanx 0 Wins, 3 Losses, with a 4 game set in TX; coming up on the road.......!

Regardless of the Yanx record vs Tejas, I'm gonna predict a Yankee Sweep in Arlington.......yeehah.....:cowboy:

I'm going out on a limb, to predict: a Home Run Fest and Derby vs Phil Hughes in the Twin cities.....you know it.......

The Yankees need to jump in there and bitch slap the shit out of the Twinkies show our old buddy Hughes just what for tomorrow.
