Post Game Visitors Clubhouse, Buck pulls out his guitar, twangs up an A Chord, breaks into an old Sonny James Tune,

"Well my shirt is ragged and my pants are tore,
Aint found nothing I'm looking for,
And I want to go back, to Baltimore.

I saw Sonny James, in Shreveport's Luzianna Hayride. He got a shit load of air time on the C&W stations. I will never forget the way he often held his guitar up on his shoulder at times. Sweet fine polished voice, not quit Jim Reeves or Ray Price, but he had a helluva following back then.......

Michael, I saw Stonewall Jackson open for Charlie Pride in 67, at the Hayride, and I couldn't believe my ears, (keep in mind, the deep south was still somewhat strongly in parts, racists, and slow to move towards civil rights, but that's a story for another day).....anyway, Stonewall was shit faced drunk, when He came out on stage, then as his band began to warm up, to build up to his opening tune, Jackson went into a drunken tirade, over and "Why should I, I, play backup to a black man, why should I open for this Nx%##%", "I'm more famous than this N%@##%@....!!!;

and his rant went on long enough, for the Producer to dim the lights until they were out, their way of giving Jackson a hint, He was about to be thrown out on his drunken ass........a short time latter Stonewall, walked off of the stage, while his band members stayed put........the shit must of hit the fan, because Stonewall, came back, and didn't say a word for the entire show........

The Yankees need to jump in there and bitch slap the shit out of the Twinkies show our old buddy Hughes just what for tomorrow.

...^^^
I remember Adam Jones comments on Tanaka last season saying he'd done all his stuff in Japan. Looking at Jones and the rest of the Oriole Hitters today I'd say he brought some of his stuff here. Fuck the damn Orioles, I remember going to games at old Memorial Stadium in the early '80's. Kick their asses.

....^^^

are you still working on having the Trop towed and moved out into the middle of the Gulf....??? Near the Deep Water Horizon......?

Drew is one of the few guys in baseball that can go 1 for 5 and see his average go up.

The difference b/t .230 and .250 over 500 At Bats, is but 10 Hits......if my Math is correct.....

Along the lines of Stonewall, I went through Basic Training at Fort Ord California in 1963. Most of the guys in my platoon were from the Western States but we did have one guy from North Carolina, one from Mississippi and our Platoon Drill Sergeant was Black. They were pissed off about having to take orders from a ^&&^&*%^%*N and actually went higher up in the Company Chain of Command asking if they had to do so. They were informed that segregation in the military had ended some 18 years prior and by taking the oath, they had to obey the orders of those appointed over them. Remembered the segregated South when I'd lived in South Carolina, Florida, and Virginia in the mid to late '50's, there were some real issues when guys from the South entered the Armed Forces. I know Pride went through some shit, saw Faron Young constantly give him some static. The first time I heard Prides record "I Know One" and was told he was black I said well he did good on that one but I was still surprised. My favorite Sonny James tune will always be "Young Love" . I'd believe your Stonewall story beyond shadow of doubt but as a Country Singer the man rated high in my book. One would really like the musical lives of those 50's & 60's Country Singers but they had some really fucked up personal lives. But I do believe in one thing still to this day, all of these problems and strife could only happen in the USA and life pretty much seems to work it out. No matter what goes on and in spite of the worst intentions of the current White House Occupant it's still the best place on the planet.
