L. Cessa (3-0, 4.01)

vs.

Y. Gallardo (4-5, 5.08)

Lineups to follow...

Gallardo hasn't exactly been Cy Young lately. Line is on the Yankees I'm rooting for Cessa and the Baby Bombers. Kick some Crack Town Ass Stripers.

Gardner -LF
Ellsbury -CF
Sanchez -C
Teixeira -1B
Gregorious -SS
Castro -2B
Headley -DH
Judge -RF
Torreyes -3B

Why? Why? Why? ...........bat Teixeira fourth behind Sanchez and then insult every Yankee fan by
batting the non-table setters first & second. Girardi, please FCOL stop referring to your black binder
already! Let us see how these guys produce.......like they have done all year. Lol

Joe, I've supported you since game 1 '08 but really, Goober, Clod, Bump and Dead Head all in the same lineup when there ar choices. Damn Joe I hope the Yankees win.

doesn't make a lick of sense does it. You'd think the Kidz are expecting to be in Post Season....

Honestly, if this were my team, I'd send Gardner, Ellsbury, Headley, Tex and C.C., Pin Head, Hicks, probably a few others, back to AAA even if I had to DFA them.... bolster up the Minor's, let all the Young Guns and Prospects get a pass to come play where they've long dreamed; give 'em a taste, see if it's the spark necessary to bring forth the new fresh crop of Yankee Talent for years to come.....

one thing's for sure, its sure as hell, isn't going to hurt nothing or change much of the outcome; "the Plan" is being revised as we speak.....anything goes mean time....

Ya' think....?

This is it.
If the Yanks are dreaming about playing post season baseball, and if they have a hot streak in them, this is the time to begin it.
Cessa needs to keep his breaking ball below the knees and throw his fastball on the top edge of the strikezone. His breaking ball flattens out unless he pounds it DOWN in the zone.
Yanks can make up a four game difference...but the biggest problen is having a couple of teams ahead of them. The only likely way is to get very hot over an extended period or of course a good win streak.
I'm not betting the house on those chances....but I am hoping.

If Gomer Pyle had seen Tex with that bomb he'd have said Shazam! Surprised the hell out of me as well.

I think Buck gave Joe a tip before game time, or offered to buy tonight's beer, if he'd tell Cessa to float Tex a hit, ... why Joe continues to pencil Tex in is questionable, IMO....

Damn Joe, all of those old freaks are producing, did you rewrite your book??????????????????

WTF.........I'm watching this mirage........somebody spiked the lemonade! LOL

Wow just got in to see another bomb by Sanchez. That kid is something special. Looks like all the old coots ate their Wheaties before the game.

Bad electrical storms in Tampa St Pete, powers gone out several time but each time it has the Yankees are that much further out. The old goats produced, sitto the kids, Cessa with another nice outing and I got back on as Heller was doing his thing. Looking at that Baltimore line up I'd say Buck was a few French fries short of a full course. But hey nice to see the Yankees put a ding in their pennant drive.

I guess the lineup didn't do too badly tonight. Five games over is the high water mark on the season I believe. Hopefully, they can keep it going and sweep this team.

Thank goodness "Joe The Genius" hasn't traded one single top prospect despite being vilified at last year's trade deadline and being mocked for supposedly having a "plan" for the team to get younger......
....oops, my mistake, it wasn't Joe The Genius.

While Tex in the cleanup spot with the season he's having isn't ideal it's where he has spent his career. On top of that there's nobody else in the lineup that's some strong overwhelming candidate to bat cleanup.

... ^^^ thank you...glad someone gets it.

...and I'm really fun watching this team right now, regardless of what their record will be after the regular season. The off-season could be very interesting.

..."Sanchise's" latest slash line; 403 .459 .883 1.342 ...and now hitting HRs at the rate of 1 in every 7.7 ABs....that's just other-worldly.

I've been on record with this statement before and will say it again. I've supported Girardi since day one. Yes there are some things that he does that make me wonder why and last nights line op was one, but they succeeded because Girardi still knows his team better than anyone. And I once asked whom would anyone like to manage the Yankees that is not currently employed and received no feedback. Yes there are the Swarzaks that one is stuck with akin to Torre using Proctor in all situations. And when the transition is complete and this club is filled with kids I still want Girardi as manager. God Damn Joe why'd you do that does pop up in my mind, but again who knows this Yankee Team better. And as much as I've bitched about Tex I guess he is much more deserving of trying to finish a season with dignity than the last employee laid off from this team. This team may not make the playoffs but at least it has a damn good chance to perform well on game day and for right now the sun is shining on the franchise.

^^^This....and it has always baffled me that some people presume to actually know more about the players and the team than the coaches do...it's hilarious . Do Girardi's decisions/moves always make sense to us?...No, but again, we're not privy to all of the info Joe has at his disposal...this is part of the reason why Joe is in the position he's in and we're merely observers banging on our keyboards.

Not doubt Tex isn't a career ".190" hitter and we could/should expect him to eventually pick up the pace but after his fairly good (for him) April, hebatted .178 with 6 HRs through the months of May, June and July and struck out once every 3.1 AB.
We'll never know how many runs could've been added through all of those games with him removed from the middle of the batting order...was there a better candidate or candidates which could've been used who happened to have better "numbers"?
