Game Thread Yankees vs. Orioles Saturday 8/27/16, 1:05 pm

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

Everyone is hitting in this series. Hard hit balls everywhere.

everybody hits, even "Dan Hicks- and his hot licks", with that stellar .216 B'Avg. 3 RBI's for Hicks, I'd wager that's his career High....

everyone hits but Gahdnah....figures...odd man out..!

This line up has got to be feeling great with the day they've had, everyone's hit but Goober, and 4 of 9 have multiple hits if not more....

the only chink in Sanchise's armor, may be: 2 for 16 vs South Paws...

and not to be overlooked, Goober gets his first hit of the day.....

coming up to bat: Trumbo and Davis..... 3 HR's b/t 'em on the day.....

drill Davis in the ass, please....or right b/t the numbers....

The O's with 16 Multiple Home Run games this year, wow....FU O's...
O's lead MLB with MH-HR-Games.... at a 1.55 avg.

Yanks are averaging 1.13 HR's a game, sure to change soon....for the better....

I really didn't think this team would have me scoreboard watching again. One day at a time. It makes it fun at least.

...^^^ Amen Vic, A-MEN...! Just when I was ready to write 'em off too....

not that I expect anything from them this year, but the future is bright once again...for Yank Fans...:smiley-sun:

He must have heard you.

no doubt the SOB sure did. And to think I yelled from 3,000 miles away, and he still heard.....guess I'll yell next: now start stealing bases, if you can, and- grow your hair back if you can....or polish the damn thing...

I saw him one Spring Training with hair and he looked like an Idiot. So no thanks on that. :biglaugh:

LMAO,:biglaugh:was He wearing (Buddy Holly) Wayfarer Ray Bans too....??

Wow, how was it cut? With spiked bangs only, or- parted on the back n folded back over the top....

Or- was He wearing a 'Fro, like Linc in "Mod Squad" the tv series....? Ya' know a 'Fro as big as a Beach Ball....

If it were in a 'Fro, he's the type to carry a 'cake cutter' hanging out of it- ala 70's concealed weapons...(only the old farts will get this)....

It was like a buzz cut. His Teammates dared him to grow it in and after they saw what he looked like they begged him to shave it off again. :rotfl:

Yankees have carved up Crack Town like a Thanksgiving Turkey these past two days. All wins against the three division leaders for the remainder of this season will scramble some eggs. This team is finally getting out of the dead zone it has been in since the '13 Season.

Damn good game, fun to watch, no, a blast to watch....nice to have a season worth watching, back and again...!

This O's Club (during the All Star Break), transformed from a Showalter led team, to a Dave Trembley "snake bit" team...

Are the O's still reeling, and trying to recover from a day just 9 years, and 5 days ago. When in the 1st of a Doubleheader, the O's got their asses kicked by a Modern Day record 30-3 by Texas. Then lost 9-7 in game 2 of the Dh......

Their run differential is at its lowest in the minus column since day 1.........Oh, I can see the sun rising
in Bronxland! Would never believed this after the trade deadline! Look what "Yutes" can do! Lol

..^^^

no doubt, these youngsters are going to (at least should); really determine the fate and outcome of the AL East, without winning it.....

its become fun once again, (instead of painful) in watching the team now, that's got little to lose, but a helluvva lot to play for,...

I doubt anyone saw this coming. I bet some of the most surprised would be Sanchez himself, ....

and yet, it was just that "run differential" that killed them last year, of which they were first, which made them worst in RD...Wow, and thankx...that says a helluva lot, .... I never expected that kind or this kind of turn around in the last 26-7 days. Best month on record so far this year, at this pace........ gotta' say one would have to be dead to not feel the excitement and buzz in the air around the baby bombers.

I wish we would have started rebuild back in may. This is great

Goshdarnit........we knew the Yanks put themselves in a deep hole going 8-14 in April and a season low 8 games under .500 including a 2-7 stretch vs Texas, Boston and Baltimore from April 25- May 5.....but not many of us thought it would come back and haunt the team during a close race for a WC spot in August, and 5 games out of 1st place.

Thus far April has been the only losing month the team has had and they've gone 59-47 since.
The team (in April) just seemed unprepared, not good enough or motivated or hungry....or all of the above.

Despite all the crap, the Yanks have held their own vs the better teams as a group:
7-5 vs Balt
5-2 vs Cleve
4-2 vs Houston
3-1 vs KC
2-1 vs SF
3-3 vs Detroit
2-2 vs Mets
3-4 vs Texas
5-7 vs Boston

And then there is Toronto.....Yanks 3-9 vs Toronto, and just like last year when the Bluejays were 13-6 vs the Yanks and took 5/7 from the Yanks in September to knock out the Yanks and take over the division....this year appears to be shaping up for more of the same.
Toronto currently 9-3 vs Yanks and the teams play 7 more games in September.

I get this feeling, if the Yanks want to play post season baseball, they must "beat" Toronto.

In looking at the scoreboard it appears that the Yankees will soon be only two games out of the second WC spot.

Amazing isn't it. Just when you think the season is done and over with these kids come up and produce big time. Bye Headley, hope he continues to be a bench warmer.

A win tomorrow and they could be one out in the loss column.

I think CC is pitching Sunday so you never know what your going to get. Hopefully they can sweep the O's and have a good series against KC.

Girardi switches- CC goes Sunday instead of Pineda vs Baltimore, and Pineda goes Monday vs KC on extra day rest.

Looks like Girardi is playing the percentages.
Baltimore vs LHP- last in BA & OPS/ vs RHP- 3rd in scoring, 2nd in BA/OPS
CC this year vs Balt- 3 GS, 1.93 ERA, .221 BAA,
...averaging over 6 IP per start.
Has not faced KC this year.

KC vs RHP- last in scoring & BA/ vs LHP- 2nd in BA, 5th OPS
However, Pineda in his only start vs KC- 5.2 IP, 6 ER, 6 H, 4 BB
Pineda vs Baltimore- 1 GS, 6 IP, 0 ER, 5 H, 8 K

In looking at the scoreboard it appears that the Yankees will soon be only two games out of the second WC spot.

...a month ago, who would have thought we'd be contemplating a PS berth ?...it appears that the spark Sanchez has provided has inspired this team and the hitting now seems contagious...sometimes that's all it takes.
