I have only been to a Hooters once after the '98 World Series victory parade
 
Thank goodness Beltran has avoided injuries.
He's done well- now, and for the past three months.
Always has been, and currently still is a fine ML hitter....I just get nervous with him losing two steps on defense.
Good ML hitter.

Thankfully Pearce just missed that one.
 
Ackley - saved a run or two with his catch early in the game.
Liked CC's message pitch to Davis.
Say what you want about CC but he's always been a fierce competitor, shows some balls...and isn't afraid to stand up.

...never was a Hooters fan...their food sucks and they draw guys in by making girls wear ridiculous outfits...and most of the girls I saw had no bisiness wear orange hot pants and a t-shirt 2 sizes too small.

What the hell was that crap? Drew should've had it but give me a break with that throw Headley.
 
I might be in the minority but I put it on Headley. Throw the damn ball.
 
that kinda of a play years ago for a drew type player , career ender, bury this guy joe!

...his throwing motion just looks weird to me...seems like he's guiding it instead of simply throwing it....looks too mechanical.

Like you said the draw is the girls but most of time they're not all that impressive. Plus, that's not an excuse to eat terrible food unless you're some 21 year old that has never been laid. Buffalo Wild Wings isn't bad plus you get to watch games. Beyond that much better places to go.

It's in his head. For example Didi has the muscle memory and the cannon to just fire it without thinking. Headley looked like he was playing darts. Should Drew of caught it? Yes, but I'm sure he was fooled by a short throw that ended up to his right and at his feet.
 
drew did everything wrong on that play, wrong side of bag, glove turned wrong way, it was not the perfect throw, but it didn't touch the dirt and you HAVE to make that play

The ball was VERY catcable, wasn't thrown too hard and above the ankles.
Error - Drew.
Isn't it funny Drew's biggest asset as a ".200" hitter has been his steady defense and now mishandles a soft toss at least eight inches off the ground for an error allowing two unearned runs to tie the game in the latest most important game of the year....?

Baseball is indeed a funny game.

Lesson learned?
Maybe GJG in the remaining games will not put BOTH Drew and Ryan in the lineup at the same time in fear of Pirela (or Refsnyder) being shakey on defense.

I'd rather take my chances with Pirela as one of the other players(2b) INSTEAD of having both Drew and Ryan in the lineup...I'm referring to yesterday's game with Tanaka pitching an absolute gem and getting only ONE RUN support.

Can always pull Pirela for defense after the 6th or 7th inning.
But let's blame this one on Cashman.

Give the kid Pirela at bats...he's a free swinger and NEEDS at bats to show what he can do. He is a .255 ML hitter and I believe can do better.
Not saying he's a great hitter, but imo he is a better hitter than Ryan and probably Drew....lol

We'll never know because this kid will probably never get a good long look.

headley played the ball wrong, and when he came up he was not set... throw still has to be caught
 
Headley like I said throws it like he's throwing a dart. We forget how many throws of his Tex and Bird have to dig out of the dirt.

...sometimes an odd throwing motion from a fielder can also put some odd spin on the ball and sometimes even very little spin and the ball looks and acts almost like a knuckleball...but yeah, not taking up for Drew, he's still gotta catch that ball.
 
Come on man. Boston is roughing up Toronto and we're screwing around with this team.
 
Congratulations to CC I figured he'd only got three. Yankees letting Ubaldo make them look like chumps.
