Game Thread Yankees vs. Rays 4/29/15 1:05PM

Good pitching, poor offense, A-rod at -06 GIDP to end game true colors are coming out. Call the Mets, see if they'll do Beltran for Colon one on one.

I guess taking 5 out of the first 6 from Tampa and being in FIRST PLACE as we head to the end of April isn't"t so bad.

This fukn James Loney is making a living hitting against the Yankees.

Nobody said it's bad but you cannot just blissfully ignore obvious issues.

The part you also can't ignore is that the pen is getting taxed early.

Okay, sure....no doubt, the Yanks have a couple of warts.
Just think what some of the other fans of other teams are saying who happen to be currently in the Yankees' rear view mirror?

I'm waiting for Kay to make an excuse for his boy A-Roid like, "He's pressing, trying to hard to hit #660".

Are you addressing me? I'm the guy who was talking about getting 7 innings and 4 runs from a SP.

I asked hinted at the question when WHITLEY was pitching yesterday-
Would you and/or Girardi like to see 7 IP and 4 R from Whitley?

Nobody touched it... I guess "five and fly" was preferred.

Sure OF COURSE I would like to see 7-9 innings and allow 2 or less runs from the SP.
And obviously, there appears to be a few fans who EXPECT it more often than I do from this staff.

Hey at least the loss didn't crush our run differential!

There ya go, and true to form.....there isn't a FIRST PLACE team as we speak which doesn't have plus run differential.....including the Yankees.

har, har, har.......thought you might like that.
Isn't this fun?

Dude everything isn't about you. I was making a general statement about the pen.

I wonder if A-hole knows no one gives a damn if he hits another tainted bomb, team wins come before that. Personally I think the forks to put in him are on the table.

Point to be considered . The Yankees starters will have to suck it up and go deeper into games or the pen will be shot by ASB. Makes us wonder how those 90 and 81 Yankee starters went six with Gossage and Davis mopping up. A good GM would be thinking about the what ifs.

...lol...we need to charge people admission for the privilege of reading some of this stuff...or better yet, have a "reality show" on HBO/PPV...and maybe even start voting people "off the island".

...I'm telling you, there's money in this shit.

Nah, he's a bit too cautious for that.....he knows that we know Arod is 39 yrs old, and is coming off a full year out of baseball.

Arod had been sitting on fastballs in the first couple weeks of the season as the pitchers may have been challenging him more often with dead-red fastballs and he was ready for them. Since then the pitchers have made an adjustment and stayed away from the middle of the plate with fastballs and are throwing more breaking stuff to him making him guess more and are now getting the fastball by him.....and let's face it....it DOES remain to be seen how much he has left OVER THE FULL SEASON and/or if he can make the next latest "adjustment".

I don't think any of us were expecting him to come close to young Aroid numbers.
Lol.

If he stays healthy, I think he'll still put up very decent numbers in his role and yes, he may strikeout often....what the heck did "we" expect? .310 BA with less than 100 Ks?

Been saying this for years since the Jonah Falcon days.

Funny stuff, like crowing over Shane Greene's first two starts of the season and indicating the Yanks have already made a bad trade involving him and Didi.

Didi has done squat, and we have Drew anyway. With Tanaka hurt, rather have Greene and one of the kids playing 2B. There is no way to defend or justify that deal. Its the worst deal of Cashman's career, and that's saying a lot.

Okay.....duly noted.

The Wow Factor Play of the Day IMO, belonged to Miller for making a bullet lined come-backer, catch........now that was a fkng great play.....!
