C. Sabathia (8-12, 4.20)

vs.

A.Cobb (0-0, 3.60)

Lineups to follow...

Hoping that the team gives CC some run support. Of late, he deserves better.
Sweeping the Jays should give this team energy down the stretch. Game on!

Near the end of the '14 season Tampa at the stadium, Cobb on the mound, Yankees on the wrong side of a 5-0 score. Before one knew it the Yankees came up off of the deck kicking Cobbs ass and winning the game. Would like to see the Yankees totally shake the corn from Cobb today. Hoping the Baby Bombers will fire it up for CC today reversing his fortunes against the Rays.

They're all big games from here on out but tonight is one the Yankees have to get. Houston looks like they're going to lose again as they trail the Indians 8-3. The Yankees have a game in hand on Baltimore and Detroit. Win tonight and they pull within a game of Detroit and two games of Baltimore. For those really wanting to dream within three of the first wildcard and four in the division.

yup - The team is energized but unlike football and basketball where superior physical skills or being able to manhandle the opponent takes control, any "momentem" can be significantly affected by the next game's SP, from either team.

I called them done a few times so I will be the first to admit that I never thought the last few weeks of the season would mean anything. It has been a pleasant surprise regardless which way it goes from here.

...^^^yeah, it's actually fun to watch baseball again...and I'm also now motivated to watch the WHOLE game, something I have not felt for a few years now.

hey if we're passing notes in class, mine says "GO YANKS!"

...Tom will have to go first, because there's no way in hell he can go after me.

Tebow signed with the Mutts organization? WTF did I miss while away? lol!

Yanks start tonight having played one less game (138) than all the teams in contention with the exception of Houston (140) which has already lost today.
After tonight, the Yanks will be either 2 games behind the 2nd WC spot or 3.
As of now Boston has 1st place- then the WC, Toronto has 62 losses, Baltimore 63, Detroit 64, Yanks 65.....then Houston 66 and KC 67.

Never know how things will develope but I believe the Yanks can't afford to lose no more than 7-9 games(?), ...imho

Which is why THIS 4 game series is gigantic.
Certainly don't need 2 or 3 more losses with 14 remaining with Boston,Toronto and Baltimore.....
...Dodgers will also visit YS for 3 games and that means Kershaw.

Fukn CC has returned with his gopher ball.
Already has given up two HRs and not yet out of the 2nd inn.
It is what it is.....he's pitched well his last two starts, can he do three straight?
Ah shit.....maybe the Yanks can continue to surprise us and knock Cobb around?

Sabathias record against the Red Sox and Rays has not been good. Goona have to keep those dingers to a minimum.

Gamer CC, two bombs to a .242 hitter, Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This gaddam fukn Kiermaier has a serious hard-on for the Yanks......two HRs in his first two ABS.
CC is stinking up the place.....batting practice.
His "M.O." for the season has pretty much been- either he's good, or he absolutely SUCKS.

Another slow roller Headley can't handle.
I lost track at how many times he's fumbled a little squibbler.
At this point, he's become the worst Yankee 3bman I've ever seen at trying to bare-hand a bunt or swinging bunt and has to be near the top for all other 3b.....ugh

This guy has forgotten how to play 3b to the point where his OFFENSE is CLEARY his strong point....and he isn't exactly Mike Schmidt with the bat.
