You're right. I misspoke when I used the "everyone" word. There were more who believed it round than flat.
But there were many who believed it flat...because lots of the earlier countries (except Spain) wouldn't back his voyage because of that belief.
Thank you for bantering me, Rob. I love history...AND the New York Yankees...and so I get both on here! America, what a country!
Well, at least Columbus beats out Mussolini & Al Capone as American Italian role models, lol.
I love history as well and always have. Seems like it's the one and only subject that teaches you a little bit about everything, everyone, covering all subjects from creation of mathematics, linguistics, Society's, creation of Nations, space travel, world wars, formation of governments foundations of everything from the Arts, science, to governments, foundational beliefs religions, philosophies to Jazz and the Blues, et al.
I had a good buddy who passed away 2 years ago about this time. He was a high school teacher north of Detroit. A devout Tigers season-ticket holder and a history teacher, his first day teaching was November 22nd 1963. History and baseball, I often realize my history by what happened in baseball that year.
Agreed on the Italian Heroes, good guys versus thugs, so let's toss and Bobby DeNiro and Al Pacino... Francis Ford Coppola, and let's turn Marlin into Marlon Brandino...
