Severino vs. Liriano

Lineups to follow...

I forgot it's Jackie Robinson Day so everyone will be wearing 42 so I really won't know who's on first.

Check of Murder City weather showed cloudy and 33 degrees as of 10 am. High looks to be 43 degrees, may get a day game, but I'd doubt a night.

Hicks -CF
Judge -RF
Stanton -LF
Sanchez -DH
Gregorious -SS
Austin -1B
Andujar -3B
Torreyes -2B
Romine -C

Game is Postponed.

FK...!!!

WTF can MLB not schedule Northern teams to play the first two weeks+++ in other venues. Not all Teams can go play in Milwaukee for their 2-week opening stand, as Cleveland did in 2007.

Besides who would want their opening day or following series - fkng anywhere but the Bronx. Don't want a retractable roof , then man the fuck up and play in the cold, rain and snow~!!!~

Are both games postponed? Just as well.......do not want to watch Cessa, perennial Yankee
call up to start on a Yankee starved staff, attempt to pitch his 3 inning stint!

Thank you.

No Decision so far Cage.

I'd like to see the season adjusted to 154 games, and like the old days revive the traditional Memorial Day, July 4, and Labor Day Double Headers. Yeah the weather has sucked but it affects both teams playing on the diamond.

Cesspool is the illegitimate bastard son of CRapuano. I hear they're going to rename the train from Scranton Wilkes-Barre to the Bronx- the Shitter Express...

It's 71 degrees in SoCal.

Make up Date will be a Split Double Header on June 4th.

^^^^^
Amen
154 games, delete t/2nd Wild Card Team; & bring back Sunday double headers. Maybe not to the extent of Past with 16+ that was a bit too much...

Noted below is an excellent article on double headers in MLB. Before reading this I had no clue Ernie Banks and the Cubs played 30 double headers in two different years. Now that is outrageous...

Oh Goody I get to watch The Pink Hatters vs. The Orioles with the annoying NESN announcers.

I would rather watch a pack of dogs trying to shit on a cold freezing day, then watch the bosox. Even Chinese women's badminton would be more entertaining...

As absurd as it sounds I'd rather watch quadriplegics swimming.

Years ago I had a daily calendar, with a cartoon for each day. All 365 pages were drawn buy a paraplegic with no arms. This is no joke, and the artist drew is cartoons with his feet and toes! Incredibly talented, a great man who could make light of his own physical condition and disability. He had 1 cartoon that showed a quadriplegic in a swimming pool, with the question: - what do you call a swimming quadriplegic? Bob!!!

Another cartoon show
A man bent over a doctor's table, to have is prostate checked. At the door was a doctor in a smock, with no arms and a hard-on. The caption read never trust a paraplegic Dr to do a prostate exam...

All joking aside, factoid!!

Prior to Today's Game The Yankees optioned Luis Cessa to The Minors and out righted Shane Robinson.

The Pink Hatters won again as my Husband walked in on me Drinking Wine and eating candy and had a fit.

Five other major league games were postponed Sunday -(White Sox at Twins, Angels at Royals, Blue Jays at Indians and the Yankees-Tigers doubleheader in Detroit) - running the season total to 21. That is baseball's highest number through the end of April since there were 26 in 2007.

Per Thomes remarks on MLB network the Bostons have pretty much secured the division should they maintain their present pace. Pennants are not won in April but they can be lost. With the Yankees getting a couple of surprise off days if I were Boone I'd flip the rotation. Get the bottom two starters against Miami with the best saved for Toronto. If the Yankees lose that Toronto Series in their own yard it does not look well early or not.

back on the subject of double-headers.

In 1968, the Yanx played in 24 double-headers. From Aug 23rd through Sept 13th, t/Yanx played 9 Double-headers; 5 of those occurred in 8 days, Aug 23-30: (repeat 8 days with 5 freaking double-headers, geezus). Of those 24 double-headers, 10 were played on Sunday(s)... imo, 24 dh's is 100% extreme & insane....
Not what one wants to see or endure down the homestrech; into the Post Season with worn out players.

Ernie Banks-
played both games of 318 doubleheaders in his career; including a string of four doubleheaders in as many days in September 1967.
"A doubleheader is the true spirit of the athlete because you have to reach inside yourself and go for more," (Banks) said. And then, once more: "Let's play two! I love saying that."

Andy Van Slyke said that not only do fans not want doubleheaders, the game might have to change the lyrics to "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." The song, he points out, "says, 'I don't care if I ever get back.' But now they do care."

Of course the athletes would wan't and need more off days to recuperate. Make Mondays travel days...
