Severino vs. Fulmer

Lineups to follow...

Like that old song not as good as I was once, but good as was once. Fresh off of taking 2/3 from the Astros including a 13-1Woodshed whacking pitched by Old Man Verlander. Can't take this Tiger Team Lightly,

I hate the Tigers with a passion........always knocking the Yankees out of the Playoffs.

^^^^my same sentiments about this Tiger team. Been floundering all year, but they always come up with
surprises. Taking the Astro series was one of those moments. Always play Yankees tough, then again who hasn't........

Let's hope Seve tames these Tigers.

I've always respected the Tigers franchise, Al Kaline was one of my early favorite players when I was a kid. Alawys remember portly Mickey Lolich showing up ego freak Denny McLaine in the '68World Series. That '61 Pennant Race was outstanding as well with both the Yankees and Tigers winning over 100 games.

I read about that Mantle "groover" in Pepitones Book.I got the impression from that book that Pepitone was and ego freak and bull shit artist big time. As for Mc Laine he turned out to be a dirt bag. At my last job before retirement I worked with a Tigers Fan who told me Denny Mc Laine was one of the most hated citizens in the state of Michigan.

Yep, that's the one. When living in Orlando back in '90s I met Joe Pepitones Daughter and had more that a few conversations with her. When I brought that book up she told me I had to take it with a grain of salt. She had a birthday party one that club and he showed up I stayed away figured it was family business which is what I told her when she asked me why I didn't come over. She was an attractive woman, but I sensed her out as a BS Artist as well.

As good a Series as it got for NOT being a Yanx W.S. Kaline was a classic HOF'r. Tho' Gibson was my first RH'd role model when it came to pitching in LL, ntm- over throwing follow throughs, but shit could he pitch...17 K's game 1....

that's right Lolich, often over shadowed by the 31 game winner, and mouthy drunk McClain. Mickey returned from Natl Guard duty (during a tumultous time) and kicked ass. I was pulling for the Cards in 68; sorry to see Bob Gibson, Carlton, Nellie Briles, Maris; Lou Brock, Cepeda, Flood and co., not get another WS Ring.

I'm gonna' miss this one, got a long Health Fair to attend....

geezus it's back to 3 digit heat in the Mojave, and with too much humidity, at 108 degrees.

Lolich pitched 3 complete games in that series and when one picks off runners like Brock and Flood you're pretty damn good. Yankees not in the series I tend to pull for the American League Team so I was happy for the Tigers. Lou Brock, that guy was one bad ass leadoff man.

Stay cool dude. And stay out of the sun.......

Checked out a few minutes of MLB Tonight saw "Mad Dog" Russo and Eric Byrnes going head to head . I don't think any of the loud sentences they directed toward each other had syntax or sense. I though Mitch Williams was bag but those two take the cake. How the hell they got jobs on that network is beyond me.

...can't stand to listen to either Russo or Byrnes.

bags loaded and no out. headleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey the batter

Good to see a Headley Double and Frazier single clear traffic and score some runs. Keep it up

Sevy you've had some scary moments tonight, keep it tight because the Bostons are ahead of Cleveland 5-0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on Seve stop with your BS walks.......they will haunt you!

Five innings and you call it a night! Now that's BS!
