There's a young flame thrower in Philly I've gone out of my way to watch.
Vince Velasquez who played 1 year here locally in Single A+ ball. Drafted by the Ass-tros he was a 99 mph fastball SP, with a good change up and curve ball. He needs a Slider and cut fastball.
He was traded to the Phillies but he's not done what I expected.
I was stunned 2c this kid throw a 7 inning no-hitter (a 1 hitter thru 8 IP).

BUT- Velasquez isn't the answer to the Yankees woes.

With Arrieta on the DL/IL, I seriously doubt Phillies are gonna trade any SP, moreso due to being in the thick of the NL East Pennant race.

Not to worry, Trashman will drag some roadkill to the table, e.g. Lance Lynn or "Not So" Sonny Gray types of garbage...
