I know its only the Twins and beating them is less impressive than beating good teams but, it could be very helpful winning 70-80% of games vs bad teams.
Gotta put on my rose colored pinstriped homerific glasses for this:
Maybe the Yanks could miraculously play around .500 ball vs the "good teams" the rest of the way and clobber the "bad teams".

...Yanx are 16-23 vs teams with winning records.

...O's are 25-21 vs teams with winning records.

... Sox are 20-20 vs teams with winning records.

... Jays are 17-16 vs teams with winning records.

To further sour the pot the Yankees are 6-15 against the AL East top three. Old Jed Clampet would say " whew doggies, them boys have a heap of ketchin' up to do!"

Yep, 6 in the loss column to be exact.

^^^plus, even though the Yanx have not shown that they can compete vs the O's, Jays, and Sox I'm sure someone will point out that if they beat up on the bad teams, things should be OK. The problem with that sort of pretzel logic is that those bad teams won't playing in the PS.

I dont see any overwhelming success by the top three teams vs teams with winning records and Baltimore has a losing record on the road.

The Yanks obviously have to do better vs winning teams- this isnt a big secret.
We'll find out in due time which will also tell us if this team can compete for the div over the remaining schedule.
I guess that's why they play all the games.

Duffey, another in a stream of 'over 5.00' pitchers facing the Yankees, is mowing
'em down early........

And, there it is. Eovaldi throws a gopher ball.....good guys down 0-1.

Howdy beyatches! Popping in to say German 3-0 over Slovakia.

On the ICE rocketing back to Frankfurt from a weekend of drinking in Paris with my best friend from college.

Nice to see the Yanks doing well, that offsets my disappointment that Trump is still breathing, lol!

Have fun Tom, I'm jealous. As far as the Yankees I'm trying my best to cast a spell on them and hopefully these Idiots can get their shit together.

Why are we not surprised?????????????????????????????????????

Now, this is getting serious. Duffey is no hitting The Good Guys through 5.

Good show Nate, that'll keep your team in the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!dumb ass!@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure Nate will be a primary asset in whipping ass on the AL East Top Three.

We ALL agree the Yanks have problems and can barely play .500 ball.
They're skating on thin ice and have put themselves in a hole because of a bad April 8-13, minus 30 run diff.
Yeah, we also know ALL the games count....including April.....and those yet to be played.

No doubt whatsoever Toronto has owned the Yanks last year and this year winning 7/9. This is plain to see.
Not quite sure at THIS point (June 26) I'm ready to say the Yanks can't "compete" with Baltimore and Boston based on 2-4 records.

And when someone pointed out beating bad teams, they also mentioned playing around .500 ball vs "good" teams as a possible route to competing for the div the rest of the way.....but I guess this is a concept which is foreign to some who claim to be seasoned veteran baseball fans.
Balt is 5-0 vs Minn and 6-2 vs TB who currently have lost 10 straight and Balt is in the process of beating TB again today.
Boston is 10-3 vs Atl, Col, Oak and Minn.
Toronto? Have to admit, they wouldn't be all that much the past two regular seasons WITHOUT beating the Yanks...lmao....sometimes it be that way.

Pretzel logic? Only a noodle brain would mention "bad teams" playing in the post season. I always thought BOTH teams playing each other in a post season series are "good" teams. Nice try.

Finally- just to keep things clear and in perspective, I am NOT predicting or saying this Yankee team will turn on some magic switch and play .550-.600 ball the rest of the way......
The point was and is, teams can win divisions by holding their own vs good teams and taking care of business vs bad teams.

And so far, the Yanks are NOT doing it- but we still have to play the schedule.

Lol, the Twinkies having a ball.
Yanks finish 5-2 vs Minn.

Memo to Joe the Genius, time to do some "managing".
Take Eovaldi aside so he knows the difference between a "coach" holding his hand and the MANAGER, and tell Eovaldi to start taking charge of the inside part of the plate and commanding respect from the hitters or else he'll continue giving up a ton of hits with a very high ERA.

Basically read him the riot act. Time to toughen up pussie boy!

Today's game was as bad as it gets for Yanx fans...

sure the Yanx took 5 of 7 from the very low Twinkies, in the last 10 days. "Good is no longer good enough"....

a Team with a .311 win pctg, should of been swept by the Yanx, not embarrassed by them....

If they can't sweep a horrid bad team, how the hell will the Yanx get by Post Season caliber teams??? (to reiterate what 59, & some others have been stating)....!!!

Don't forget to thank Angela Merkel for doing her best trying to destroy the great culture of Germans and Europe. By the way, any mention over there about 9% of a certain segment of their population accounting for 30% of the prison population? Or how the economy is going to hold up?

Ask Angie baby about 2/3 of her population being against further immigration from those wonderful compatible worshippers of Allah....

Happy to report Trump is doing fine- you'll be glad to know he's behind in the polls to America's version of Angela Merkel but I have to break the bad news to you, most of the smart people know and sense the polls aren't reflecting the truth and people will speak when the election comes, like Britain.
And,
There are two kinds of voters:
Those who know Trump is way ahead of the curve and correct.
And those who don't know it, yet.

...I'd like someone to explain how Trump is going to pick up another 45 million more votes than he garnered in the primaries.

"Good is no longer good enough"....

I agree.
The Yanks very soon are going to need a good (7-8) win streak or a sustained period (2-3 weeks) of very good winning baseball.
I can't envision this team going on a long win streak and they're going to need good consistent SP for a sustained winning stretch of games.....oh sh!t, there goes the season, lol

Thats the interesting thing about playing the full schedule.
Sure, I know its going to sound like excuse making and pie in the sky crap but most teams go hot and cold.
Few are consistently bad and fewer are consistently great.
Its not easy watching the season and waiting for the other shoe to drop.

...really?...please expound on these supposed "possibilities"...if you can...and please, try not to fuck things up this time. The fact is you have no valid answer and you know it and so instead, you simply babble incoherently.

...atta boy, keep riding the fence as usual...classic, simply classic.
