Need a big performance from nova today as samardzjia will be tough

Per a Wallace Matthews (maybe consider the source) on the state of Yankee pitching the following allegations were made. According to Matthews the Yankee players looked like losers making excuses for plays made or not made on both sides. Yankees had previously kicked Danks can. Advisal Garcia, remember him, dude gave the Yankees & CC Sabathia fits in the '12 playoffs. And moving on that Chicago Pitcher today will be as previously posted tough. Best hope that Nova is on point and Ellbury gets his game out of the crapper. A five game lead at this time of the year is not exactly a lock for anything if a downward spiral occurs.

Not to mention that only last week it was a 7 game lead. It could change in a hurry.

Like I've been saying, dog days of Aug would make or break this team.

Ellsbury puts Yanks on the board....1-0.

I just hope they can add to this. Now, it's Nova's turn.

Diego Moreno, just called up........placed on the DL for
elbow discomfort. Beltran, in one day, out the next.....
a continuous saga.

Now THAT'S! what I call a great start 6-0 & Didi has been on fire. The hot weather agrees with him.

.196, drew may crack .200

After that last hit they calculated his average to be 199.28

Honestly though, even if he hits 400 for the rest of the season, I don't want him back next year.

Like that all hitters are contributing; and yes, no matter
what Drew does, hope he goes elsewhere.

Nice win, but will still take it one game at a time until the Staff gets straightened out.

There's a lot of season left & 6 games is very doable.

The game is over, the road trip is over, Yanks have tomorrow off.
I'll toss my three cents in and go for a ride.

Yanks did well going 6-4 on their 2nd, and last 10 game road trip which was also the longest road trips of the year.
Before I go any further, allow me to also cover my ass....err....,uhm....
.....I mean, show recognition , awareness, and respect for the ebb and flow and pitfalls of a 162 game schedule- and this 10 game road trip doesn't settle the division, and a 6 game difference in the standings can be lost or gained in a week-
yawn,...as if we didn't know....lol

Yanks did well - and not only didn't slow down, they actually attained and gained a couple of things.

Before the trip began, they had a 5.5 lead on the 2nd place team....they now have a 6 game lead. They were 12 games over .500 before, now they're 14 games over.
They had the 3rd best record in the league 4.5 games away from the best...
...now they have the 2nd best record and THREE games away from the best record (KC) in the league.
Yanks are now one of only two teams (KC) with a winning record at home and on the road - and they have played five more road games than KC.

On a side note- some media talking heads were actually dumb enough to find fault with the Yanks hitting too alot of HRs....they say it in the form of "the Yanks rely too much on the HR and have alot of trouble winning low scoring games".

Didn't hear too much complaining or apologizing after 2009, or 1961.....or.....1927? LMAO.

No, of course this team isn't a juggernaut.... but they are what they are..and what they ARE is as good as just about ANY other team in the league - imho.
Good enough for me, for now.....to be continued.

Incidentally, here are W-L records for 1st place, 2nd place and contenders when scoring 3 runs or less.
Yanks 10-34
Hous 9- 40
KC. 13- 35
Minn 14- 39
Balt 7- 39
Tor 3- 37
LAA 15- 39

One run W-L records:
KC 15-9
Yanks 16-14
Hous 14-15
Balt 14-17
LAA 16-13
Minn 14-14
Tor 11-23

I'm not seeing anything which should cause the Yanks to shake in their boots.
By the way - KC is currently 22-21 vs teams with winning records.

Quite a ways before the magic number is meaningful. Just keep winning series.
