I know this was directed at Steve but CC & A-Rod are 2 examples that I wish the Yankees DID lose a player because of the opt out clause.

...LMAO...this is a contradiction of what you originally said about "opt out" clauses. ("Whoever they take P L E A S E no opt out clauses.")

...how could ARod and CC have "opted out" if their was not an opt out clause in their contracts?...first you say you don't want an Opt Out Clauses, but now your problem is not with Opt Out Clauses, but instead with the fact that the team didn't let the players go when the did in fact opt out...you can't have it both ways.

Exactly Rick! I wish when they opted out the Yankees let them go... That or they didn't opt out in which case their contracts would be OVER!

...same response as I just gave to rick...you can't have it both ways. Plus your comment about their "contracts being over" is not entirely correct either;

1. The Yanx didn't give ARod the opt clause, the Rangers did. It was part of his original 1999 contract with Texas.

2. Had Texas not given ARod the "opt out" option in his contract, you're also assuming that the Yanx would not have resigned ARod anyway.

3. As far as CC, sorry, but no, his contract would not "be OVER"...if CC's original contract had not included an opt out clause it would still have kept him in pinstripes through the 2015 season. (also had a 2016 option)

Not a contradiction at all.... I said "WHEN they opted out", I wish "the Yankees let them go".... I then said if " they DIDN'T opt out out in which case their contracts would be OVER"...

IN OTHER WORDS: I wish they never opted out (1st choice (this would have resulted in their contracts running their life & would be over), but considering they did (FACT), I wish the Yankees let them go & didn't resign them...(2nd choice)

Not a contradiction at all no matter how you slice it!

OK, CC had a little time left, but it's less time left

And you seriously believe the Yankees would have resigned A-Rod????

...yes, it is..."no matter how you slice it".

...how can you wish they "had opted out" if there had been no opt out clause in the first place?

...and like I pointed out, CC would still be under contract regardless.

When did I say I wish they opted out??? I said that I wished WHEN they opted out they were let go.... But never wished they opted out... Try again

...are you fucking serious with this BS?...you said no to opt out clauses, period. Without opt out clauses in their contracts, the Yanx likely would have resigned ARod anyway (like I already said)...and CC would still be under contract anyway. (also like I said)

...therefore opt out clauses are not the problem.

...what difference does it make ?...what about the original point?

...can you explain why you have a problem with "opt out" clauses or not ?

Yes, I am... You are the one with the issue, not me...

A-Rod's contract WOULD have expired after the 2010 season... and he had already been a drama queen... I doubt he would have been resigned in 2010 (rather than 2007). So, yes... I have issues with it

A-Rod & CC opted out, and the Yankees resigned them both to insanely long contracts making their final years way too late in their ages... CC is breaking down now... add the years on that he now will be getting... Yes, I have an issue with... A-Rod would have been over in 2010... he would have been someone else's headache, but instead, he isn't... he's the Yankees headache... so, yes, I have an issue with it...

I am serious... no BS. I don't like the opt-out
I am serious... no BS. I think the opt-out hurt the Yankees in both cases here...

See above, but the difference it makes, is that you said I said the Yankees gave A-Rod an opt-out in post #32...

Yes, I am... You are the one with the issue, not me...

...back up, no issues here...not at all....simple comments and simple questions.

...no, if you'd brush up on your Yankee history, you know that when he opted out the Yanx vowed not to resign him. They supposedly had moved on and Boras was dealing with other teams until Hank stepped on his dick by sticking his nose in the situation by giving ARod the new deal...what makes you think Hank would have suddenly grown smarter in 2010?....and that still does not address the question of WHY you have a problem with an opt out clause that the Yankees issued?

A-Rod & CC opted out, and the Yankees resigned them both to insanely long contracts making their final years way too late in their ages... CC is breaking down now... add the years on that he now will be getting... Yes, I have an issue with... ...no, you're wrong again...they did NOT sign BOTH of them to "insanely long contracts"...try going back and actually reading what I've already said about this (post #32)...with his ORIGINAL contract, CC would still be under contract through at least 2015 with a vested option for 2016...when he opted out the Yanx only gave him ONE MORE YEAR and a 2 Mil raise.

I'm stuck??? You keep bringing it up... I respond to your insanity...

But to rehash again...

After A-Rod opted-out and was a free agent, who signed him? I seem to recall it being the Yankees... so he was signed by the YANKEES after he opted-out of the contract he signed with Texas.
CC signed with the Yankees, opted-out, and then resigned with the YANKEES...

So yes, both were signed by the Yankees after they opted out.

I don't know why you are stuck, but I guess they breed & grow 'em dense in The Natural State...

...not sure why you're still stuck on this...one more time, what does that have to do with the ORIGINAL point?

...was Texas giving ARod an opt out the ORIGINAL point"?

And you keep rehashing it and trying to say that I'm saying things I never said... And you were debating something I said... that was the point.

If you don't like this, you can go screw yourself

And with that, Ron, I will not respond to your drivel on this thread any longer

...and there you have it folks, personal attacks and insults...the last desperate bastion of someone who obviously has no other recourse.

And with that, Ron, I will not respond to your drivel on this thread any longer

..."drivel"?...what drivel?...I've been precise and to the point from the very beginning. But for whatever reason you have yet to answer the ORIGINAL question and the whole crux of this discussion, which was; ("...do you have an example of a case when the Yanx offered an opt out that hurt them by losing a player?")...you could have avoided all this by either saying "yes" and providing actual examples...or simply saying no...you chose instead an entirely different route.

...by agreeing with ricks post, you maintained that the Yanx should not offer "opt out" clauses. You also maintained that the Yanx got screwed by the ARod and CC opt outs...I showed otherwise. In fact, I've countered every point you tried to make in this thread but all you want to talk about is a statement I made about "Texas giving ARod the opt out out clause, not the Yanx"...it was a simple reference I made because most people assume that it was the Yanx who made that deal.
...but you're "stuck" on that statement only, even though it has nothing to do with the simple initial question I posed to you. Instead of muddying up the water with impertinent issues, why not simply address the question I asked.

...If you don't want to answer it, that's fine, because I can certainly understand why you wouldn't. But don't act like you're somehow taking the high ground here, because you're not. It was a simple discussion that ended up ticking you off. That's your fault, not mine.

Great Pic, I have never seen a Southern Whitetail this size. Kudos, I can only picture the two of you dragging this big dead beast, thru the brush, then having to pick him up and put him in the bed of the truck. I wonder if a front end truck wench, could pull that monster up, by using the wench cable backwards?

I bet the both of you slept real good after that haul. And/or sore as hell the next morning too....?

Nice work, enjoy that venison all winter long. Venison Chili, Burritos, shish-ka-bobs, steaks, you name it, Venison anything; even in the Wheaties too........ Stew, Picayune, Gumbo, et al....
