Yanks offense....

Since their last road trip (Hous, Angels) , their last 11 games including the loss to the A's tuesday night - the Yanks have scored 3 or fewer runs nine times - and have scored ONE run or less FIVE times------- these are the type of team batting slumps which take a big bite out of the W-L record and if it continues much longer will probably cause the team irrevocable damage on the win%.

This is not good.....not good at all.....I don't care how many HRs a team does or doesn't hit, .....this team has a malaise which they had better snap out of.

THREE or fewer runs in 9 out of last 11 games including ONE or less runs in five of their last 11 games.....scary.

If the offense , which has been the most consistent positive aspect about this team in the first half goes "south" in the 2nd half.......we're in deep doo doo.....unless a couple of Clayton Kershaws and Chris Archers suddenly appear on the Yanks' staff.

And just to get a better perspective, maybe I'll come across a stat which shows (FOR ALL TEAMS) what percent of the time they score least 4 or 5 runs in a game when they do NOT hit a HR.

Not too late....now let's take care of business until the All Star break and come out charging in the second half.

Depends on how you look at it Rick.
Taking it further, if they go to the last 10 days in September with the first place team and the rest separated by 3 games, with the WC almost out of reach,
...what comes first to "our" minds, a weak division or a very exciting race to the end?

Ellsbury is such a fine all around player- I hope he returns in good fashion and stays healthy the rest of the way.
Also a career .300 hitter w/risp including this year before he went down.

I think the return of Miller will be a boost for sure as it vastly improves the defense... I don't see Ellsbury being too much of a boost though... Might help Gardner a little, but he was on a tear without him... I think it'll only be a matter of time before Ellsbury is back on the DL

After the All Star Break the Yankees play 35 of their remaining games 19H, 16 A) against Division Rivals which should make the schedule a bit easier.

Question- how much of a difference do you think there is between Gardner/Headley batting 1-2 in the lineup and Ellsbury/Gardner batting 1-2?

I don't know about anyone else but I'm viewing Headley as a signing gone wrong. Tex has bailed him out on many a throw, he's made too many errors, with two GIDP in that last Tampa game. Looks like last year he was playing for a contract, got it, along with gift wrapped paychecks. The man has some shaping up to do to help this team out. Too bad the Yankees couldn't have acquired Josh Donalson!!!!!!!!!!!

He currently has 16-17 errors & if not for Tex he'd close to 25. Look at the bright side the 2nd baseman of the A's has 27 errors already.
