I was stunned, when the Lockheed-Northrop Grumman Merger, fell thru the cracks in late 99, early 2000; after Boeing bought McDonnell Douglas the year prior, (giving Boeing the Only American Commercial Business). The Govt cited a merger b/t both aforementioned Co's, would create a Monopoly on Electrical and Radar Systems. I cashed out my Stock when it hit 142$ a Share, Up from 68$ a share. After the Govt. shot down the merger both companies stock crashed to approx: $52 a share.

More stunning was the sale by Lockheed, to Northrop; of the Newport News Ship Yards, and the Contracts for Reagan Class Subs and AC Carriers. Including Pascagoula, Gulfport MS., and New Orleans Ship yards. Northrop layed off a shit load of personnel in those Ship Yards, but not until the Navy obtained several Stealth Designed War Ships, purchased with a "Black Hole" budgets.

In the veil of Secrecy , the OHIO class subs have been updated in designs. Most of the American Public is not aware of the Naval updates. But yeah, AC Carriers need replacing, and YES the Nation needs more of the Reagan Class Subs....

No doubt, with a defensive Triad, this Nation has to upgrade its MX program, with ICBM's......

I like your idea of utilizing a 2 step method of delivery, ie Trains & Silo's....

although I doubt our Silo's are the TSAR they used to be, as it seems both China and Russia, knows very well where those Silo's are located....

time to upgrade, including relocations of silo's.....
