Yet another case of a cop being a dick

If anyone hasn't noticed, I feel so strongly about this subject, as my father has been a police officer for 25 years. Him and a few of the other department members, on their off day today, will be driving down to Oakland to take part in the funeral prosession tomorrow. This is totally on their dollar, and only to show support for the fallen officers. I'm really not trying to target anyone with my rage against "people who hate cops", but I see the other side. I see my father who works his ass off to take care of people on a daily basis, who loves his job and who loves doing the right thing. yes their are officers who let the power go to their heads, but I really do believe it isn't as many as some may think. A lot of officers get rage from people for doing nothing more than trying to protect them. They don't have the option of who or what calls they respond to, and they are required by law to give service to everyone in need. It becomes frustrating for me to read a guy say "I hate cops", when I very well know he someday may need the service he rails against. Will he appreciate it then? Yes, absolutely. I really think the ignorance needs to stop, and the self awareness needs to prevail. We as a people need to stop with the self importance as if society needs to fit into our daily lifes, and realize we are a small clog and we need to fit into society. Unfortunately a strong police force is needed in todays world, as we saw in Oakland this week. I wish it didn't have to be that way, as that would mean as a people we would have succeeded. This just isn't the case, I just think maybe we need to have a little more admiration for what these officers do for us.

QFT.

Grew up in a Law Enforcement family, too. I can't stand idiot cops who give a bad reputation to all the cops out there who do their job the right way.

Show me a person who makes an ignorant response such as this, and I'll show you a person who probably isn't the most law abiding citizen.

Okay.

I'm always reminded in situations where I see someone say "I hate Cops", about a dude I once saw...ironically on the Cops television show. He was pleading with an officer to not be arrested after a traffic stop had shown him to be in possesion of drugs. His reasoning for not being arrested? He had turned his life around and hadn't been arrested for a few years. He wasn't hurting anyone....Blah blah blah.

The thing I found most interesting is the idea that having not been arrested for a few years was obviously a huge accomplishment for this fellow, and he was offering that up as an example of how good of a citizen he was. I thought to myself how my life is so different from other peoples. If I had ever been as much as detained in the back of a police car for breaking the law, for even a few minutes, I'd be so embarrassed and ashamed I'd never share that with anyone. However this guy was really impressed with himself that he hadn't been arrested in a few years.

Terrific.

Do good human beings even have a reason to hate cops?

Maybe you should take a look in the mirror, and ask yourself that.

Yes. The majority of cops are corrupt assholes on a power trip who do more than their fair share of profiling and stereotyping. I also have a grudge the fucktards who declare weed illegal and spend shittons of money trying to fight it, while a zillion bottles of booze (which is much more dangerous than weed) are sold every fucking day.

You realize what the word "majority" means right?...as in more than half.
I live in a relatively remote area compared to the rest of the country. If the cops here are shitheads, I can only imagine what places like Florida, Texas, New York, L.A., and Washington are like.

You mean you're not from Compton like your location suggests? :dunno:

That just to sound cool?

I love when people from relatively remote areas say they're from the ghetto to try to sound cool.

Because everyone here thought I was from Compton. Right guys? Did I fool you or what?

You could have been. How are we supposed to know where you're from. Do people from Compton not post on internet sites? I dunno. I don't know anyone from Compton.

Ive played golf in Compton! Wasnt exactly a top notch course...Had to remove a 40 bottle from the fairway :ghoti:

 The majority of cops are corrupt? Get the fuck out of your own little world and come into reality, JE. The only reason you think that is because the media only covers corrupt cop cases. The cops who do the right thing never get media coverage, but if one cop beats the shit out of some guy, it'll be all over the news for weeks.

Summarizes these dirtbags quite nicely.

Well that was just uncool, Ed. Deleting funny shit. I outta post a video about you.

this reminds me of what happened last night. although i dont know all the details. my 2 friends came over at around 2 o clock, and i gave them 4 beers(2 each). so they put them in a backpack and walk home(not 21)...as they are walking home in a field, a cop pulls over and 2 guys get out and tell them to get on the ground. then they proceed to search them(violating rights, im pretty sure) before my friends even knew what was happening. they found 2 beers in my friends backpack and made them dump them out. but the stupid f'ers didnt find the other 2 lololol..anyway they let them go, but thats fucked up. im pretty sure they invaded my friends rights. but when a cop does that you cant really say shit or they will become even more pricks...

Unfortunately the negative minority becomes the largely accepted stereotype due to the media realizing that the aforementioned negativity sells much better in this day and age. It is like this for so many groups of people: cops, blacks, gays, Mormons, Christians, military servicemen, etc.

It is very unfortunate that a few (in terms of the overall ratio) very bad incidents causes large groups of people to believe that this is somehow the norm when it is not.

Lost in the brouhaha that has erupted regarding the shameful (in our opinion) incident that unfolded between Dallas police officer Robert Powell and Texans running back Ryan Moats is a report that Powell drew his gun on Moats’ wife.

Apparently, the weapon was pulled at the outset of the confrontation, when Moats’ wife tried to rush inside the nearby hospital.

“Get in there,” Powell said. “Let me see your hands. Get in there. Put your hands on the car.”

It should have been obvious to anyone with an ounce of common sense that a car with its hazard lights flashing that ran a red light and stopped in the parking lot of a hospital contains people who for whatever reason need to get inside said hospital.

This isn’t about Powell’s subsequent perception, right or wrong, that Moats had a bad attitude. From the moment Powell got out of the car, he was wired for a confrontation. Otherwise, he would have let Moats’ wife head to the hospital without incident.

The fact that Powell opted not to shoot her when she decided to ignore him proves that Powell knew what was happening. And yet he still opted to act like a royal ass.

We realize some are concerned that criticism of police officers might undermine their ability to perform their jobs effectively. We prefer to believe that criticism of those in authority is appropriate, when deserved. Otherwise, Powell and people like him will continue to make the darkest moments of people’s lives unnecessarily darker.

Dunno if posted here or not.

Well to be honest she shouldn't have gotten out of the car once it was clear that a cop was behind them and pulling them over.

Drawing the gun was over the top, but by the book, he did the right thing.

You pull someone over and someone jumps out of the passenger side of the car, I can't fault him at all for pulling a gun out. WTF do you expect? It's his actions after that make him a douche in the whole process, but to expect a cop to just allow people to jump out of acar, and sit there with a flashlight waiting to get shot is just stupid.

I would have said, "Fuck You, you have no right to tow the car" and left. Worst case scenario he has to get the car towed. But that's seriously fucked up. I really do not like cops. While some are intelligent (or rather can play word games well) most of them remind me of the guy in high school who had to repeat a grade and made fun of the autistic girl by throwing coins on the ground and laughing while she ran around to pick them up.

It's their last way of having power. Glad that asshole got called out.

If you're speeding through red lights and stop signs, just about the only legit place to go is the hospital, regardless if you're carrying a patient (like when my niece got her finger chopped off and I went 100 miles an hour from Ocean City, Maryland to Baltimore to get to the good hand hospital), or trying to see someone for the last time. That cop obviously doesn't get it.

Makes the dude stick around for a lecture after his ticket....fuck that cop. I would have been in jail or being pulled by cops out of the hospital if I had to deal with that.
telling his "war stories" at the end of the 2nd video, other cop was hoping the ncident would have been more exciting...fuck them
