lmaoooooo!!^^^

get this dude off my team!!

and is yi really athletic? really?

what has he done to prove that? cause he can run and is a 7fter?

he is about as athletic as dirk and i dont call that athletic either.

i think anderson actually shows more athletic ability than yi. he has better body control and seems quicker.

Best I can tell, Yi is significantly better than "Skita" was.

Basketball Reference agrees

Anything you'd like from the Bulls for him? I'm authorized on behalf of John Paxson to field offers.

Hmm, I think I'd do that.

Kind of funny they have identical PER but completely different games.

If Tyrus can get his head straight he should be very very good player in this league. He has all the tools to succeed.

Yi has a pretty looking shot, and fast feet and length to get his shot off and grab rebounds with less effort than most players...he probably needs more strength but he already has a lot going for him...a lot of what's lacking is mental...aggressiveness and confidence. Confidence is harder is come by when your game isn't going that well but aggressiveness should be a constant...krstic in his rookie year was a lot more aggressive than yi though he lost most of that and all of his confidence after the injury...

Belarus... getting Tyrus' head on straight is far from a sure thing. That's been the question with him from the beginning, and after three years... it's still a pretty big question.

And they both shoot horribly from the field.

And I always had a hunch Yi was older based on the info we learned about him during the draft. But if dude is already 24 then his window to improve has drastically diminished.

The kid is 21. His two 20+ point performances were better all-around game than any game Lopez or Anderson has played.

Why not just be happy that the Nets have three players, all over 6'10" and all younger than 22, who can explode for 20 and 10 on any given night and who will get better. Isn't THAT enough?

i like to have all those 3 bigs in a nets uniform plus boone, krstic and a terrorizing low-post presence (a 20pt on 50%fg/10reb/2 blk guy like al jefferson who operates primarily on the low block)...stro and SWat are out...

I'm surprised nobody, to my knowledge at least, has made the connection between Yi and everyone's favorite Net of all-time - Keith Van Horn. Never seeing Yi play before this season I noticed this like the 2nd game of the season....I mean the guys like a reincarnation of Keith. His moves are eerily similar and hes a player like Keith who's too big and not really a good enough ball handler for the 3 and too soft for the 4. I do think Yi can turn it around and make a contribution to this team over the next couple seasons but not worth resigning after that.

KVH was way better than Yi. He was much more polished offensively and could create his own shot.

i dont like this thread YI is a great player and good rebounds his shot is good

If Michael Olowokandi can get his head straight he should be very very good player in this league. He has all the tools to succeed.

Fixed it for you.

lol.

Ly_yng is right. "Having your head on straight" is just as much a skill as shooting or dribbling. Some guys got it and those guys don't.

With respect to Tyrus... I think he's just got a very weird, very moody personality. Supposedly he "gets it" now, but I've heard that every season. I expect he'll throw up a couple more clinkers before long and start sulking again. But I hope I'm wrong.

Yi played very well tonight. The shot didn't fall in the first half, but he still played hard and the effort and hustle was there. His shot started falling in the 2nd half and he played very well tonight. He did get blocked by the rim though on his dunk attempt, which was hilarious. ;)

I think he wanted to miss that one so he could get the double double.:ohno:

Yeah, Yi's approach was much better even when his shot wasn't falling and he showed some mental toughness when he air balled that jumper but still came back and followed it by knocking down a couple of jumpers. He also showed some ability to drive to the basket. It was quite an impressive drive to. Got to the rim real fast. Let's see if he can keep it up and keep the same approach of mixing his game up when his shot isn't falling and not just stand on the perimeter.

but do we have to wait another 5 or 6 games for another soft defensive team for him to show up?
