You guys like Collins?

I like Collins. He is a hungry, energetic player. He's a hard worker and has a good deal of potential. I just hope that potential can be seen under Stotts. Collins reminds me of a younger Meyers who is actually excited to play defense and can take hits to the face eyes open. Lets keep our fingers crossed he doens't go down the same path as meyers and never develop into what he could be. Collins is coming into his own and seems pretty confident. I want to see more production. Is he the best big in the draft I don't know. Markkanen might beat him out for that spot.
0 change he goes down the same path as Meyers.

Their paths are in different dimensions.

Interesting shot of Collins and one of our veteran players (either ET or Ed) during a timeout in the 4th quarter as they were walking on/off the court against OKC. I wish there was audio because it kind of looked like Collins was pointing something out while the vet listened carefully and kept nodding his head. I could be making nothing into something here, but regardless of what was being said it sure seemed clear that the rookie had already earned his teammate's respect. The kids seems to have a high BBIQ and will no doubt be yet another good leader on this team.

Here is Meyers on instagram.

One of the reasons I like him, despite is very low PER, and other low stats is from a Lillard rookie video.

Kobe's voice comes in for a short time: "the skills, the patience, the intelligence.... he's the real deal."

I see the same from Collins.

I also think of him as similar to Aldridge and Durant - not skills-wise, but body-not-ready-wise. They came into the league
from a coach at Texas that didn't have them lift weights. As a consequence, Durant started in the league
as a SHOOTING guard, even though it clearly was not his best position. A weakling as the only player
at the combine who couldn't lift 185 even once (a certain pg was able to lift it in the teens number of times).

I see that weakness in Collins, too. He'll fill out and get his body where it needs to be, but he's not there
yet, he's getting pushed around. It'll take a while because he's burning thousands of extra calories each
day, so it's hard to put on muscle under those circumstances.

The skills are there already.
His mind will get there.
His body will get there.

One tell-tale sign for me is FT%. When he starts shooting his college FT% in the pros, it'll mean he's starting
to get comfortable. He's not there yet.

You're making stuff up that you have no way of knowing.

Meyers will never advance his defense. This is his 6th year in the league.

Dude was awful in the OKC game. Came in and immediately OKC started scoring in the paint at will.

He's garbage. Your obsession over him is weird.

What's weird about it? She married him. I applaud her unwavering love and support.

When Aminu was injured, Vonleh filled in and our starting unit was affective on both ends of the court.
We lost a lot of games when Chief was out...I don't see the benefit..he's by far our best defender....

Portland went 9-4 without Aminu.

These things aren’t that hard to check.
A lot of games is what I said....who knows...maybe we'd have been 13-0 with him....and I don't need to check real gm or whatever ....there are plenty of those folks around here that love to crunch numbers....I just watch the games....and like to give a shout out to Chief when people complain about him....I've followed Vonleh's games in Chicago too.....he's been ok off the bench...he's not Chief....he's not starting and they're not a very good team

You can't admit you were wrong? How is almost a .700 winning percentage "losing a lot of games"? Doesn't mean Aminu doesn't have any value to the team.

We had a winning percentage of 69% with Aminu out and Vonleh starting. That’s a lot of games to you?

Could’ve just gone the easy route and admitted you were wrong instead of being condescending.

But hey, whatever works for you!!

what part of "who knows" is confusing you.....I knew some stat geek would show up with a stat though....
Okay, so we might've won more game with Aminu. Who knows. I still fail to see how we "lost a lot of games" without him.

Yeah, a "stat geek" would find a stat. A lot of people like to bring facts to the table, or check to make sure what they're saying is credible. It's what makes this board great, compared to other forums that spew illogical opinions that aren't based on fact (ex. Clutchfans).

being condescending.
That's how you read my post? ok.....I apologize if I think we're better with Aminu then we were with Noah.....I still think that Chief has more impact....it's all good...I'm not going to argue about it though

Meyers made mistakes in the OKC game, as do most all of the Blazers in their down moments. But he is progressing and I imagine that is coming from dedicated hard work. The Blazers do help each other, and we fans can look forward to improvement that they give each other as teammates. It makes sense to look on the positive side for a team that is outperforming expectations. These guys are improving each other.

Why not look at the positive factors instead of just inflicting self-doubt from fans who could be encouraging?

Okay Meyers, very funny, you're not fooling anyone anymore.

Lol he said "We were 9-4" and you said "I said we've lost a lot of games" as if that statement applies to a 9-4 record.
are you an echo chamber? lol he said this and he said that and I feel like beating a dead horse! somebody needs to be right all the time....hint...it's not me

As I’ve said before it’s like comparing a robot with a gazelle.....an old school robot without leg joints.

I don’t think I ever said we were better without Aminu, just that when others got a chance, they delivered.

I think we are better with Chief coming off the bench....and while we are at it bring Nurk off the bench too. He can be focal point of second unit and Ed is better next to Zach so if Collins starts so should Ed IMO.

I like Noah...last season when Chief went down we suffered too...he's just our best option against superstar SFs and PFs....I think Chief is underrated..but I've said that already...

Definitely been better than I was expecting. I think in ~2 years he could be a solid piece on a contending Blazers team.

solid 9/10. Full marks if a Kristin Blake photo would've been attached.

Edit: And a 12.666 for Jackie Christie. Who my wife says is very nice in person, if she doesn't think you're after her man.

Please no. These days there are very few centers who can actually be the focal point of any offense, and Nurk is not one of them.

I think Nurk would dominate second unit bigs pretty easily and would be a better option in the second unit than any other players in that unit.
