The thing that doesn't make sense to me here is, if they are willing to take on Deng's salary, they should be willing to take on Aldridge's instead. And for us, trading LMA makes a whole lot more sense than trading Batum, since we are getting Okafor back.

It could be. But given such "rumors" in the past, it's probably not. Like 99% not.

And the Olive poster had it before ESPN Radio said that the OREGONIAN had reported it. Most likely, it was a Chicago radio dude over-zealously misreporting a rumor as substantial.

You guys know that after this season, NO will actually be under the cap. Loading up on heavy contracts is not what they want.

CP3 + Okafor = $27M out (CP3 contract increases, too)

Deng = $11.5M in

= $15.5M savings

That's first year... add up CP3 + Okafor remaining contract minus Deng's and they save ~65M
