A man in his early 20’s walked off the designated boardwalk, slipped, and fell into a hot spring at the Norris Geyser Basin Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Colin Nathaniel Scott, 23, from Portland, Oregon was with his sister, Sable Scott, when the incident occurred approximately 225 yards off the boardwalk near Pork Chop Geyser. The victim’s sister reported the incident to rangers Tuesday afternoon.

RIP

But let this also be a lesson to people who do this stuff. Stay where they tell you stay for YOUR safety.

I'm willing to guess he was trying to get a photo or a selfie.

I can't imagine a more painful way to go.

That was my first thought as well, but honestly after not too long he probably went into shock and couldn't feel a thing. At least that's what I hope for their sake.

Me too. But imagine every nerve ending in your body on fire.

Ow ow ow ow ow?

As I say about LSD...just stay inside and it will be a good trip. Go outside, you get killed walking off a cliff, or busted for acting like an ass. Stay in your home.

No murder inquiry? :dunno:

Not like this is an ordinary or likely way to die, barring drugs or stupidity.

Murder, or manslaughter seems the most likely cause.

And 2 football fields off the boardwalk is not just "walked off the boardwalk and slipped in".
