OT Your Favorite (Chain) Burger Joint?

I've ranked Red Robin right up there, but I read recently that Five Guys was one of the most popular burger place in the country. I think I'll give them a try...and go for their top items, according to this website:

#4 Bacon Cheeseburger
#2 Peanut Butter Milkshake
#1 Cajun Fries.

When Five Guys founder Jerry Murrell was young, he had options. Learn to "give a good haircut," "serve a good drink at a bar," or fry up a tasty burger, his mom told him, according to Five Guys. As long as you can do one of the three, she attested, you'll always have an income in America. Murrell took the advice to heart, and also carried it on to the next generation. When his own five sons began considering careers, he presented them with two possible paths: start a business or go to college. The boys banded together and began their enterprise in a field that, according to their grandma, would guarantee income. That is, they got really good at serving burgers.

Before long, the infectious Five Guys flavor franchised all over the country and, now, internationally. Today, there are so many different menu items to choose from, it's hard to know where to begin when simply scrolling through Seamless.

In an effort to solve that problem, we thought it was about time to take a hard look at the most popular menu items and pit them against each other. What is the best thing on the Five Guys menu, after all? Come on this greasy, peanut-oil-infused journey with us to find out.

5 guys is probably my favorite fast burger spot also. The fries are great and the burgers are juicy. Get a small burger though as their regulars are doubles (I think) and the double is too much burger.

5 Guys is tough to beat for casual dining, just so many options but don't be expecting fast food prices even if it feels like a fast food setting. Red Robin was it in my childhood but haven't been to one of those in quite some time. Living in Texas everyone loves Whataburger but honestly it's way overhyped and you can taste the frozen patty, I'd rather have a Wendy's burger personally. I'm still partial to In-N-Out when it comes to a fast food burger and will always have Burgerville on my list of stops when I'm home.

I like 5 guys for the cajun fries. The burgers are nothing special.

Shake Shack burgers are the best for casual dining. Their fries suck. Buttttr, the shack burger or chicken sandwich are great.

I do understand Burgerville. That said, There's an inherent geographical conundrum for me.

Whenever possible, I try to visit burger joints (or restaurants with a deep fryer) during less busy times (i.e. 2-4pm) as the oil temperature is generally higher. Hence, more crisp, less greasy foods - particularly fries.

Anyone in Hillsboro should go get a Mr Bento burger. It's a Japanese burger spot with lots of other options. The sweet teriyaki on the burgers is amazing. I also like getting a salad and pot stickers for the sides. Seriously folks, I think it's the best burger on this side of town

Burgerville uses fresh local ingredients including Walla Walla sweet onions. Plus they have halibut fish and chips.

I will say the Las Vegas strip location is better than the new Shake Shack location on the west side. I still love it either way though.

There's some smaller, Oregon-based chains I enjoy. I used to love Mike's Drive-In (there's only two locations). Nancy Jo's is pretty good (only from Salem to McMinnville).

As chains expand, the quality goes way way down, usually. Take the Halal Guys cart, in New York its awesome, the locations out here in LA suck ass.

My go-to spot here in LA is "Habit Burger". I don't like going to In-n_out because of the long waits, etc. Habit Burger is dope, they have A1 steaksauce as a condiment. one in Seattle.

For a sit down chain, I really like Islands. They raised prices signfiicantly though

I miss Burgerville. I travel a lot and Burgerville stands up to anything other regions have to offer as far as burger joints are concerned. A fine establishment.

I did stumble across an Artic Circle in Green River, WY a couple months back. I thought they were extinct, It was like seeing a dinosaur. I was in a hurry and couldn’t stop, but I WILL be going back there for a chicken sandwich and a lime ricky sometime.

Nancy Jo's was good. Great fries! I would give FiveGuys the edge on the burger though.
