Popeye's sucks donkey wangs. It's the worst tasting chicken I've ever had.

I ate Popeyes in the mid 2000s with the founder of the company. He was at our office and one day decided to buy chicken from the local store for everyone lol. He said that location was "ok" and then it closed a few years later. These days you kind of have to go to sketch neighborhoods in LA to get some Popeyes.

I guess they were bought out in 2017 by Burger King/Tim Hortons. They used to have a different menu back in the day, I remember they had good fried crawfish and shit like that. Red beans and rice, etc.

I think the location matters, I remember the one on MLK back in the day used to be good.

The MLK one is the one I've gone to the most... Which is only like 2 or 3 times. But last year when we went it was good.

Does Portland have any of these left? Excited for the fry sauce!

I've never been to a Shake Shack. They're all over in NYC, but we never stopped in while there. There are now a few in Nashville, so I'll probably get to one before too long.

It's not bad ... wouldn't call it a fast food burger like InNOut or Whataburger, more on the lines of 5 Guys, but I like 5 Guys Burgers quite a bit more than Shake Shack.

Hmmm I disagree. 5 guys isn’t even close to shake shack

Hands down, gotta give it up for In-N-Out! The simplicity and the secret menu make it a winner for me. Animal style fries, anyone? Also, if you're into trying something different, have you ever had a Korean cheese corn dog?

I agree - I used to eat at the one in Milwaukie - also Mikes has a good burger.

Gonna try shake shack this weekend maybe. Cant believe I've missed them. Looked them up snd the pics look fantastic. Snd they also toast their buns, which is a requirement for a great burger to me.

Had a Roakes burger last night. Very good. Love their toasted buns.
The coney dog is really good too.
That place is one of the true hidden gems of Portland. We use to walk 18 at either Colwood or Broadmoor and then go to get the Nordius Maximus in all it's glory!

Okay. DAMN good burger! The only complaint I would have is the tiny tomato slice covered less than half the burger and the same with the single leaf of lettuce, when the pictures show two slices of tomato and a healthy leaf of lettuce.

With that said, I'm hitting them up again today before an afternoon meeting I have in the area. The meat was spectacular as well as the buns. Fries were good, but we got cheesy fries. Wont do that again, the cheese sauce is not very good in my opinion.

Wife got the chicken bites and I was impressed with the quality of chicken. They were really good as well(I stole a pc, lol!) I ordered a shake and it too was fantastic. I give it a 9 out of 10 on the burger experience as a whole.

There is a small local chain called Honey Spicy that does Korean fusion, and they have a few different varieties of the corn dogs. They are fantastic, and the rest of the menu is, too. There aren't any burgers, but I highly recommend it.

Super Deluxe is putting out some pretty decent burgers. The owners were one of the founders of LIttle Big Burger.

Shake shack. Have been there four times each time it seems to be less and less impressive. Last ti i asked for extra lettuce. Got a whopping two leaves instead of one….

but Joe approves! Happen to be wearing a rip city shirt. Exchanged thumbs up with him!!!

Burgers are better than McDonald's. But I don't get the hype.
Just like the win prediction thread on here every season. I’ve always enjoyed my In-N-Out burgers wherever I buy em. I know what to expect, so always satisfied. #RealisticExpectations

I honestly like the Big Mac and the Quarter pounder from McDonald's more than the In-n-out burgers up here.

Though, the one we got in Roseburg like 5 years ago was pretty good. Tasted way more fresh.

I think people have West Coast bias for In N Out. I've asked people why they like it more than Shake Shack and never get a real answer. It usually comes back as some bullshit reason.

I haven't tried Shake Shack. But I want to.
