What is your interest level of the team?

  • I still watch/listen to every game with complete fandom

  • I will watch/listen to most games, get excited/hopeful

  • I catch the games when I can

  • I'm starting to do more things instead of sitting down to watch/listen

  • It's gone. Talk to me next year.

There were raised expectations. But this team as currently constructed, has no level of consistency. We give away games - we lose them outright. We've had one true, real good game this year (My opinion).

We've had 4 three game winning streaks. And all of those were in different months (Nov, Dec, Jan).

We've also had 4 three game losing streaks.

Beyond that, this team has no identity. Which is really odd considering this team had the underdog, fight for every minute of every game identity last year.

So, where is your interest level? When did you feel it wane? Do you find it hard to take out the time to watch the games? Did you use to schedule around the games and now other things have taken priority?

If it's true, that makes you no less of a fan. I don't want to hear that in this thread. This team is not good, has not given us anything of consistent play.

My interest level is small, it started out big, but there's been literally no momentum at all this season. And no games that have even given me a reason to cheer. When we lose by a bucket I don't get mad.. I use to schedule my time around Blazers game so as to catch every second... Instead of being excited about the game coming up, it's met with more apathy.

Doesn't make me less of a fan, I'm just not going to parse out my time to something that has been consistently inconsistent.

Always gonna be a fan but a true this point could care less if I miss a game because it's going no where this season. I have watched most games and will continue to do so just because. Before I always had to watch though, these days if I have something else I wanna do, I will do that before watching this team. Nothing to look forward to.

That was why I made this thread. At the beginning of the year, I would make sure to have everything set up 15 minutes ahead of time - have the game thread up - and ready to go.

Now? I'm not mad when work has me on during a game.

I post more in OT than the Blazer forum these days....I even read there during games and I never got distracted in the past when a game was on

I pretty much just follow along with the games on Twitter at this point, and still have Vue for some reason but am probably pretty close to cancelling it until next season too. Call me a bad fan but at this point I'm actively rooting for them to lose to get a better draft pick, that's the only way out of this purgatory.

I'm still cheering and will try to watch games...just no juice..winning is becoming a surprise instead of losing being a big disappointment

Nah, that doesn't make you a bad fan.

I still enjoy watching the Blazers when I have time--Lillard and McCollum are fun players to watch. I must admit, McCollum has become more my favorite to watch than Lillard.

I gave up on this season a while ago. I expect nothing but some impressive performances from Lillard and/or McCollum and I usually get that. I learned long ago that if you only enjoy watching your favorite team when they're relevant in the title hunt, you're not going to enjoy watching them much (unless you're a fan of the Spurs or Patriots these days--the Cubs will probably also qualify for the next decade).

Still fans, still there - but god damn if this might be the lowest year I can remember in some time.

I still think this team is more fun to watch than the really crappy and dull teams with Darius Miles, Viktor Khryapa, Sergei Monia, Ha Seung-Jin, Juan Dixon...

Still watching every game possible and cheering for wins, but overall I'm just very disappointed thus far and starting to get numb to the uninspired and idiotic play and coaching, especially on defense. I mean, I guess it still pisses me off so I'm not numb to it, but I'm just not surprised by it anymore so I'm able to cope with it better after shitty losses.

Until the last 5-10 games, I was hopeful that the team would get it together and make a second half run like last year. Not happening.
This is the year that Lillard must face the reality that he and CJ and a bunch of nice guys is not enough in the NBA. There are too many other good teams to allow the Blazers to succeed absent a better front line. At this point, I am hoping Olshey has a trade to make that will be a step forward. I watch the games to see Dame's and CJ's offensive brilliance. I hope that one other player will make a move towards consistency.

I will never be an advocate of intentional tanking, but I don't think it will have to be advocated. The team's own shortcomings should ensure a lottery pick. Hopefully it will be a good one.

Problem is with those teams you had someone to really dislike and vent about....this team is full of nice guys...my least favorite was the lockout Luke Babbitt Chalupa season when Nate got fired

I like our players, and think very highly of them.

I have become more interested in the business side of the NBA than the game. I keep active with the Blazers because I want to see how Olshey gets himself out of the mess he has created.

However, I have lost interest in the NBA game for several reasons.

1) I believe the overall talent level in the NBA is very weak right now. There is a shortage of quality starting level players. The other day I looked at all the PFs in the league trying to find one to trade for. I was amazed to find out that I had never heard of some of the starters. There are several teams that are playing SFs at their starting PF position. That is bad.

2) Too many quality players have joined each other to form a few super teams. If I was a good player on a non-super team, it would make me question how much of my body to sacrifice for the team. I probably would just play well enough to stay healthy and to keep the checks coming.

My gf and I just went to lunch with a gf of ours during the game. That would have been unheard of before, but this game went about as expected for this season. Their back court beat our back court.....leaving us with almost no chance.

I miss really good passing and skilled post play the most...the 3 pt shot is starting to water down the style of play. I think the league needs to construct a real minor league system for each team and change a few rules for playing in the paint...goal tending for one. I like to see goal tending to be called really sparingly in obvious cases where you couldn't take the ball out of the cylinder but blocking off the backboard should be allowed more

They were getting 3 shots a possession off offensive boards all night

Ah....so that is why the guy with the highest rebounds/per minute average recently was on the bench and only played 15 minutes. Stotts is trying not to solve the problem when we are getting killed on the boards.

For the first time I'm not watching International basketball and NCAA for prospects like I used to.

Neil killed my ambition in this because of his severe lack of creativity and aggressiveness.

Are ticket prices still at a premium? A premium price ought to be for a premium product - this team is far from that.

What oves would you try to make? I think the only attractive trade pieces we have are Damian and CJ. Who would want any of our other guys at the amount they make?

This is sad because I used live, breathe, and die to the end with this team. But I don't watch games anymore. I take it back, I watched a few minutes the other night against Dallas.

To me they are spinning their wheels and are not going anywhere with this leadership. In many ways, I feel they have been neglectful in the way they have operated. I noticed this a few years ago while many were enamored by the job the leadership was doing. I wasn't. Missed opportunity after missed opportunity. Wasted resources and like Craig Ehlo suggested. Little to no sense of urgency to get this right. Not sure what a fan needs to take away from that. But it's true.

We as fans and the organization have put so much faith and trust to what Neil Olshey has to say, we don't question him,m. But to me he has been nothing but a whole lot of hot air since his arrival. Yet we take him for his word and this owner totally believes in him and so do a lot fans because he can..,sell it. I'm not buying and haven't into his big load of you know what. I feel he is incompetent and everything he does and says is to preserve his job and the money he is stealing from Allen.
