I'm sure we're all picking up new albums on a regular basis, so this is a topic in which you can share what albums you have recentley acquired. Feel free to give a mini run down, review, rating or your general opinion of them too if you like.

I picked up these 3 yesterday:

Ministry Of Sound - "The Annual 2006 [Australia]" (My Rating: 6 / 10)

Ministry Of Sound - "Clubbers Guide To 2006 [Australia]" (My Rating: 2 / 10)

Avant - "Private Room" (My Rating: 7 / 10)

Nelly Furtado - Loose
7/10 good pop hip-hop crossover record

Lupe Fiasco - Food and Liquor
7/10 catchy poppy beats - so-so rapping, good background music

Brian Eno - Before and after science
this is some groovy 70's experimental stuff. Eno is a super producer who has produced many huge groups, but before that he was a solo artist....
9/10

The Postal Service - Give Up
8/10

It was actually good. Surprising because I really can't stand Death Cab for Cutie.

The Postal Service have some good music. Very simple and easy to get into; basically just chill out with some friends and enjoy the sound. I recently purchased the Cities two albums "Cities" and "Cities Variations." My first suggestion for listening is the track "Writing on the Wall," which only opens with the chorus and ends with the chorus amazingly with interchanging verses and a great climax in between making it completely original and unrepetitive. It contains emotion through the guitars, but not something to the extent of dredg though I would suggest it to the band's fanbase. I've posted links in the "Music you've probably never heard of..." thread.

You buy too many cd's that you can just download. I only buy albums that I find impossible to find for downloading, which, in this case, would be the following -

John Frusciante - Smile From The Streets You Hold

I bought this album simply because it is impossible to download, anywhere. It's got a lot of raw emotion and subtle beauty, but it's definitely not an album for the casual rock fan, or even the casual Chilis fan for that matter, because of the darkness and depth of it.

Chocolate Watchband - No Way Out

The first album from arguably the most underrated psychedelic band of all-time, No Way Out is also the band's best, containing their heaviest material. It took me forever to find a copy though.

Damn, where'd you get the Chocolate Watchband stuff man? I've only heard a bit of their stuff but it was very cool and worth finding out more about.

I honestly haven't bought anything new for awhile. If I have a hankering for new tunage, I just get one of my friends to burn it LOL. I pretty much just buy records now, too, more as a collection than as stuff I listen to every single day. So far I've got these (wish my camera was working

Huh? I have album arts for every album on my mp3 player, but out of the 45 fulls albums, five were actually bought. I just went to amazon and copy/pasted the covers.

People buy the album to look at the sleeves. I do at least.

It's especially hard to buy CD's in this day and age aswell, as I mean no one really listens to actual CD's on a CD player anymore, we're moving into the age of the MP3 player, and I for one listen to all my music on my computer and my phone, so I have no use for a CD, I'll be damned if I'm going to fork out $20 - $30 for a CD I'm only going to use once. If an album comes with like a DVD or somthing, then usually I'll buy it (i.e The Game - Documentary, Xzibit - Weapons Of Mass Destruction), if not, it has to be really good to capture my sale.

Agree, I only buy CDs of my absolute favorite artists and only if a) its a special edition CD with a bunch of extra stuff or something like that,

an old classic that I never picked thats now cheap. Once I get a CD I usually leave it in my stereo and play it on there alot but after a while I just add it into my playlist on my computer, mp3 player, XB360, and really don't use the CD.

With that being said I just ordered Sublime: Everything Under The Sun ($35 right now on Amazon.com btw for all you other Sublime fans and/or stoners) and Red Hot Chili Peppers: Californication. Was going to get By The Way too and some Eric B and Rakim CDs but opted to buy a clean new Warriors throw back hat.

Didn't pay a penny either.

Alot of WuTang solo albums I see. those are probably the best solo albums from the Wu. you should get return to the 36 chambers by ODB and Tical by Meth
