here are my TOp 5 hiphop albums of the year:
1. Clipse (just hooks you in and is so much more compelling than anything else not sure why)
2. Lupe (solid but he ain't the second coming)
3. JR Writer (best rapper by far out of that click)
4. The Game (some of these beats and hooks are awesome i have to admit)
5. Jigga - never really got into it but it's still decent
6. Nas
I haven't listened to the Birdman album but I"m skepitcal. Maybe I"ll check it out.

Okay Airfresh I can understand not liking it - - he likes Lil Wayne, the gayest excuse for music of alltime, but you? I'm starting to wonder ifyou even get what this hiphop is all about. Clipse's latest is so sick it's got AIDS, herpes and diabetes all at the same time!!!! Lyrically average? Who was better in 06? I"m not mad atcha, I just think you should re-listen to that album and then tell me honestly that it is not the illest album released in this year.....

The Clipse album is boring, all they do is talk about cocaine every song. Not to mention it took them 4 YEARS to make an album with 12 identical tracks. Its a very lackluster album imo.

Yes, they talk too much about coke. imo coke dealers = scumbags. However what Clipse do with this subject is just very original. The lyrics are all stuff that we haven't heard in a while. And the delivery is tight. They take you into that coke world and that's what makes it an artistic success. same way when Mobb Deep did The Infamous they took you into that world of Queensbridge beefs and whatnot - it's rap with a vision....

I got that when it first came out. I was really into it (and on the verge of obsession), but after a few listens I got sick of it. Still a solid album, the replay value just isn't too great.

Yeah I haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but I like "Whatever You Say" and "The way You Do It" the best.

I got it off RapGodFathers too. I used to get all my albums from Rapmusic.com, but that place was shitty and now they require you to have 250 posts to get music. RGF has a lot of good stuff.
