Later this (Tuesday) evening, the NCAA selection committee will release their initial football rankings. I was curious, and thought it might be fun, to post our Top 10 predictions here. I'm thinking that the 3 potential debatable selections could be Alabama, Penn State, and Minnesota.

Here's mine:

1) LSU
2) Ohio State
3) Clemson
4) Georgia
5) Alabama
6) Oregon
7) Utah
8) Minnesota
9) Penn State
10) Oklahoma

Watch Georgia win out, including the SEC title game, and then the committee has no choice but to exclude Alabama, as well as both the Big12 and Pac12 champs.

Utah (beats Oregon in Pac 12 title game)

I'm with platy....GA beats LSU in the SEC championship game.

I'd suggest St. Mary's School of the Blind figures in there somewhere.

I'm in Georgia and I have followed The Dogs for many years. They're a good team this year but IMO, not quite as strong as they've been during the previous 2 years. And while I'd obviously like to seem them win out, realistically I don't see it happening. They still have to play at Auburn which is never an easy task. And they'd also have to beat LSU in the SEC Championship game. And then if they survive those 2 games they'd still have to defeat 2 of possibly OSU, Clemson, LSU, Bama.

FWIW, I don't believe UGA's Kirby Smart to be very "smart"...his poor in game coaching/play calling has cost the Dogs 2 National Championships in the last 2 years. (they had Bama by the throat both years and Smart's decision making let Bama go)

We can always hope.

I became a Dogs fan while living there between 1996-2008.

I thought they already released it and your first seven are correct. Don't recall the next three.

There are multiple "ranking", the ESPN, and AP and a few of them come out Sunday. The committee that picks playoff team's releases theirs on Tuesday Nights.

I saw some rankings that were called playoff rankings that had to first seven in exactly the order that ABM quoted.

As the Three Stooges used to say, "One of us is crazy and it's not you."

Lol, I'm not sure maybe they've been released? :)

He was such a mild-mannered. man. :)

May he R.I. P.

Obviously I'm somewhat biased but he was the greatest. What I would typically do when watching one of the Bulldogs' games was to turn on the TV game, turn down the volume of the network broadcast and listen to Munson doing the "play by play" on the radio at the same time with the volume turned way up.

Dude, when I was a teen...I did the same thing for Blazer games and The Schonz. :)

I'm assuming that "Schonz" was the radio guy for Blazer's games?...was he around for Bill Walton?

I watched the program at 4 this afternoon and AB nailed it this am.

Holy crap !

They had the unmitigated audacity to put Georgia ahead of Bama?

Oh, the humanity !
Those two are always duking it out for the higher ranking.

I highly dislike the Jazz (ever since the Brian Grant vs. Karl Malone days - see cool video, below, though...). I pretty much don't really like anything Utah, other than the beautiful scenery.

That said, I don't have a very good feeling about the Ducks, should they face Utah in the PAC-12 Championship. Not certain why....I just don't.

I'm talking 1972-73. Thanks for the history lesson. :)

and in 72-73 majority of all games were only on the radio so not sure what TV broadcast you had to turn down. :dunno:
