Georgia will have to beat LSU this weekend, then likely have to beat Clemson in the first round, and then likely have to beat Ohio State in the finals.

Doesn't look too promising for the Dawgs.

I agree and I would love to see Georgia conquer all. Just doesn't look at all likely.

Pretty amazing that Clemson hasn't lost in basically 2 full calendar years and has essentially zero chance to be the #1 seed in the playoff. Or that regardless of who wins the SEC championship, their reward for winning the conference will be the privilege of facing an undefeated defending national champion for a chance to play for a national title.

Gotta believe that part of the reason Clemson is not ranked higher is because of their strength of schedule. They had a close game vs NC but have been on a roll lately and they're healthy and their defense as almost tough as it was last year.

Oh, no doubt that OSU and LSU have far superior resumes and performances. I'm just saying that I don't know if I've ever seen an undefeated national champ fly so far under the radar as Clemson has this year, and it kinda sucks for LSU (or in the unlikely event of a win, Georgia) that they are what's waiting for them on the back end of an amazing season.

Yeah, personally, I believe that LSU and Clemson are the 2 best teams. I suppose there's an outside chance that IF LSU absolutely destroys Georgia and/or OSU either somehow loses to Wisconsin or does not win convincingly, maybe, just maybe, LSU leapfrogs OSU for the number one seed.
Yeah, I know, it's not likely but hell, who knows.

You gotta look at Clemson's opponents.

What sucks about all of this is I don't like a single team with any shot at the CFP's... It's like the NBA lol.

Root for Baylor. All you need is for Ohio St, LSU and Oregon to all win, and then...

Well, then....they could be the Ducks. ;)

Friday: Ducks vs. Utah (Ducks got this one. Book it, Danno)
Saturday: Ohio State vs. Wisconsin (can you say repeat blowout?)
Saturday: Oklahoma vs. Baylor (Oklahoma has been climbing the ranks. Don't count them out of the playoffs)
Saturday: LSU vs. Georgia (GO Bulldogs!!!!)

Gotta love this time of year!

What fixes all this, though, is an 8-team playoff. *sigh*

Yeah, this time of the season is fun but I actually prefer the regular season where I can get a feel on which teams are good and which are not.

Honestly I think the ducks lose by a fairly big margin. Their offense isnt good, Utahs Defense is really gold. Oregon will have to make it a low scoring game, but with as awful as they are offensively they put their defense in terrible positions.

That's funny, I think the Ducks' offense and defense are pretty damn good, most of the time. Remember, the Utes lost to a fairly poor USC team so they don't always play so great either.

I love "Conference Championships Saturday"! I kinda get the same feeling when NFL playoff games take up the weekend.

Oregons defense is really good. I think their offense is the worst amongst the top 15-20 teams in the nation though. They just aren't very explosive. Example against Arizona state they scored on the first drive of the game and didn't score again until they were way down in the 4th quarter. I believe they didn't score at all in the first half vs cal. They blew out USC but the defense gave them good field position on 2 of their scores, and defense / special teams had 14 of their points. The offense maybe doesn't "suck" but It's not an elite unit either IMO.

LOL...well, my worst fears were realized. The Dawgs simply did not show up but I have to tip my hat to LSU, they are by far, the superior team. I mentioned earlier that if LSU completely destroyed Georgia and Clemson destroyed Virginia and if OSU did not win convincingly, LSU should leapfrog the Buckeyes for the #1 seed...I don't think who the #4 seed ends up being because I don't think they have a chance vs the other 3.

FINAL PREDICTIONS

#1 LSU
#2 Ohio State
#3 Clemson
#4 Oklahoma
#5 Florida
#6 Penn State
#7 Baylor
#8 Georgia
#9 Oregon
#10 Auburn

Mine looks just a little different...I like LSU/Clemson at 1 and 2....I also put Georgia ahead Florida because the Dawgs beat them and ahead of Baylor (another 2 loss team) because, well, I just think the Dawgs are better.(and yes, personal bias entered into my decision)..lol.

How do we judge Clemson? Second half of the season theyve blown everyone out, but theres probably 5-6 teams who could done the same thing if they played Clemsons schedule. I think they’re the biggest question mark to me.

Yeah, you're right, TB...Clemson may very well stay at #3 and they may be playing OSU in the first round regardless. Granted their conference is not as strong as the SEC or the Big 10 but I also considered that they are the reigning Champs and talent-wise, because they are so damn deep, I think they may be just as good as they were last year.

As far as LSU after yesterday's massacre, I'm still wrestling with whether Georgia simply did not show up or LSY is just that damned good, I'm leaning toward the latter.

Whats interesting is I think OSU, LSU and Clemson all have great offenses, I have no idea which team is capable of getting stops when their playing each other.

Not so fast on that LSU jump over Ohio State.
By the way, I did peg Oregon now, didn't I.

I think it was a combination.
I also think LSU is going to have a tougher time with Ohio State than they did with Georgia. I doubt that Oklahoma wins another game.

I think LSU has a slightly better defense than Clemson or OSU...just my 2 cents.

So, Wisconsin vs Oregon in The Rose Bowl. Thoughts?
Low scoring. I think its one of those games where both teams kind of thrive on dominating the lines, will be super interesting which team can do it.

Ive been kind of down on Herbert, but it would be nice if he got his “moment” before he goes to the NFL.

The PAC12 really needs to perform well in bowl games IMO.
