Kerry Eggers was on Rip City Radio yesterday. He had some interesting comments on Sheed and Bonzi , and the Jailblazers Era. Basically that Sheed and Bonzi want to act like they were misunderstood, but their actions , in many cases were deplorable. It was a good listen.

If anything those guys were fortunate to play when they did. Nowadays with social media and cameras around 24/7 the public opinion on them would probably be even worse had they acted the same way.

Bonzi, years after the fact, expressed regret that he wasted his chance in Portland.

I put Sheed in a different category. He was popular with teammates and opposing players. His worst off court was pot smoking.

I wasn't aware that Bonzi felt that way, about his time here.

I did a lot of stupid things in my early 20s. No press or history written in stone as with these guys.

I think its great that Dame and Roy and others were class acts their time in Portland. But I don't hold it against guys for acting stupid in a way that is very normal for 20 year olds.

Yes and no. There is now much better training from teams, NBA, players union, as well as players own inner circle on how to manage their public image.

I am forgiving of young and stupid. Some things go beyond that. My criterion is, what if this person was a coworker of mine? How would I react?
