Your reaction if the Blazers keep Hickson

Depends on the other players we get this summer. When you say "sizable" what contract are you talking about? 7-8 mil, 8-9 or 10 mil?

Enough money that makes it to where they couldn't afford another starter, so probably 8-9 and up?

I would shit then. I really want to keep hickson; but I think his true value is around 6-7 million. I'd accept if it was around 7-8; but anything over is stupid.

Hickson went a long way towards losing us the game last night. Moreso than any uninjured starter (I give Batum a pass for now), he's impossibly uneven and unreliable. 7 million is too high, because *should* be a bench player.

Not going to happen. Oshley's made it clear he won't waste cap space on somebody who doesn't move the needle.

That said, if we can retain him at a price that works for all parties envolved, I'll be ecstatic.

Re-sgining Hickson will only happen if the imaginary off season plan (signing three really good players) doesn't materialize. It'd be a bad sign.

Can we find a player to out up his kinda numbers anyway?

(insert some random college player said poster is obsessed with and convinced will be the next big thing)

ABSOLUTELY PISSED. Will call for Olshey's head every day in this forum

He's 3rd in the league in double doubles and 10th in rebounds. I dont understand why all the hate towards JJ.

Yes. Especially as the season goes on and his good play is generally leveled out by recent bad play.

Even with his uneven play he is averaging a double-double on the season, has the 3rd most in the league, and a per of 20 plus.

So while I think you can find some guys to do that, the list is very small.

No hate, it would just be a huge waste of money to spend 7-10 million dollars on a backup 4 given the other needs on this team.

I know. We really do need to use that money to get a backup 4.

Yeah, fuck starting center or finding a competent backup shooting guard or point guard. 10 million for a backup power-forward sounds rad.

MAX CONTRACT SOUNDS BETTER BRO.

At about $7m a year I'd be ok with it considering his age, production, etc.

My reaction would be disappointment.

I believe as soon as JJ signs a big contract he will check out mentally more often than he does now, we won't see the high effort moments, and he'll become a useless player.

If Neil Olshey can't move JJ by trade deadline or he thinks that JJ will resign with the Blazers for a minimum deal when it's obvious that other teams will offer him more, I will question Paul Allen when he said that Olshey is a GM with the "Golden Gut."
