but both injuries entail some legitimate long range concerns. Shoulder injuries probably rank high in the potential for recurring-injuries realm. And a stress fracture in an ankle certainly brings up the possibility of structural weakness. But I guess it's better than a stress reaction in the foot. However, that both injuries actually required surgery is another concern
The reason for the shoulder surgery was to make repairs to keep it from becoming a recurring problem. Zach could have continued playing this season after the shoulder injury healed up, but there was a good chance it would have happened again. Now, after the surgery and physical therapy, his chances of a new shoulder injury aren’t greater than anyone else.
